I wonder if.

I wonder if an interesting thing about cluster headaches is that they are like a light switch. They are an extreme pain, there is no doubt. But they are an extreme pain that is here, and then they are gone. They are unpredictable when they come and go, but when they are gone, they are completely gone .

There are, in fact, few things that go from such one extreme to the other in such a short as time, I suspect. Human body wise anyway.

I have a friend who suffers with a deteriorating back condition.  A very extreme pain in its own right. But her pain is very visible, as she is slowly spending more and more of her life in a wheelchair. The difference with cluster sufferers, is that when we are not suffering, we are not suffering in any shape or form (apart perhaps from shadow headaches).

In general though, we are in either in extreme pain, or no pain. And that is kind of an odd thing, I think, in the realm of pains.
