Brew's father had a tattoo that had an funny story.

He got tattooed while in the army.  He got his girlfriend's name on his forearm.  Her name was Marilyn, but he was drunk and spelled it wrong.  Forever after he had "Marlin" tattooed on his body.  And he married Brew's mom, Carol.

By the time I knew him it was just a blue blob under the hair on his forearm, but it still makes me giggle to this day.

It's interesting that this topic came up.  Last week I was visiting a friend at work, he asked why I looked like hell (thanks Bill).  I told him to google 'the worst pain known to man'.  The first thing he said after seeing this image on wikipedia was that it would make a great tatoo:

Ive got 5 tatoo's and all have a significant meaning behind them.  Tatoo's are not that painful.  It is a very small needle.  The only time it hurt me was when it was against my collarbone.  I think it is a great idea and would say put a lot of thought into what design is going to be used because it will be there for life.  Otherwise enjoy and have fun with it.

Well.  Maybe I should never have started this linkas it seems that I have gotten nothing but negative,"I don't like them" responses. For those of you who can't see why someone would have one, in 2000 my Dad died and I got the Italian flag on my chest with his name, I have my family crest on my shoulder, my mom's fam is Irish so i've got 4 leaved clover and my son's name thus evry one has meaning as would a CH TAT which would would honor the many years of pain and suffering that I have gone through as well as honoring my CH family

Pfunk- Those that voiced their opinion that they don't like them, had no bearing on whether you get one or not.  They were just in general conversation and they were only opinions on personal choice for them.

Nothing more. Smiley

Now, as for me, I do have 1 tattoo I got 1 month after my mother died.  Now, 10 years later, I have only recently began wondering if I want it to stay or not.  It's strange, as I've never thought anything negative about it up to this point, but it might be because my step dad has a tatt in the same spot and he is not a person I want to associate with anymore (long story).

Anyway, maybe you could ask someone who's art you like, to draw one up for you?

Pfunk. Don't worry about what others think. I believe most where just saying that "they" don't want one. It's YOUR body. My first tattoo was with a bunch of Clusterheads. There are alot of Clusterheads with CH tattoos. My tattoo is not so much Clusterhead related, BUT it has a meaning TO ME. I always think of my Clusterhead pals whenever I look at it. It reminds me of the nightmare I had for 25 years and the bond we had that weekend. Since "that one", I've had two others. One is a cross with angel wings and my son's name on it. He passed away. The other is an eagle with an anchor and flag and USN. ALL 3 have a big meaning TO ME. Truthfully I could care less if anyone else doesn't like it.

Now if I can just figure out what the NEXT one will be.  Cheesy

I don't get it either.  The woman sitting next to me on the plane looked somewhat  like several of these combined.

There are tribes in this world in which full "body armor" tattoos were a rite of passage.  They were done in a mass ceremony over days or weeks and they would lay on one side of the body until the job was done there, rested till it healed enough to turn over then the other body side is done.

There is another group in which it is the girls face that is tattooed in an intricate pattern when she is of the age of marriage.  The female elder who will do the work studies the girls features and bone structure and creates the pattern then goes to work.

With all things, tattoos are another thing that has evolved over time.  The themes of the artwork are as individual as the human beings who choose them.

That said...I have 3 tattoos.  2 are fairly large by conservative standards, and one is about the size of a half dollar maybe.

Thinking to have that covered up with something mushroom related.   Wink

I apologize to most as I may have been a little over sensitive there. And thanks to others for completely understanding where I'm coming from. Jhammer, is that not an awesome pic? I have that pic permanately posted on my FB page and scare the hell out of some of my friends, A few years ago, someone on here gave it to me as a suggestion for my tat and I was really ready to do it. Then my son was born. At that point that one turned into a tat for him. Also I thought maybe that might scare him a bit when he grew up a little bit. However, I do haave 3 tattoo artists in Charleston who are still begging me to do that work for me.

I have two TATS that I regret.    Different age... Different day.

some time they will have some way to remove them with out too much trouble.
Save your breath... Those who wish to get one.. won't listen anyway.

In these past several days of reading this thread, I am now considering getting my 2nd tattoo.

I love the drawing of the demon digging into the eye.

Wow I love the CH Tat I was thinking on getting a breast cancer tat. But now I'm a survivor and my life is all about CH's most of my Dr's don't understand the pain we go through. All I would hv to do is show my Tat. I do carry some of the letters from this sight just to give them a Idea or to refresh their memory of Ch's . Haven't found many Dr's nor Neuro Dr's that take me serious.
