Autumn leaves
Oct 26th, 2011 at 1:01pm

I love this time of year.  Humidity is a thing of the past, cool day/crispy nights and switching from ice tea to hot apple cider.  Life is good.  Grin

This is why Autumn is my favorite season.  Sweatshirt weather, love it!

Found:

Treasure in the Galaxy

Green, once waving supple leaves
Lay curling gold, or auburn red.
Autumm winds will chase them
'Til they're brittle, brown and dead.

Orange and pink-rimmed purple clouds
Burn the day's last ember low.
A cold and still, starry night
Surrounds an awing moonlight glow.

Our tilted, traveled, turning earth
Seems just precisely placed.
This ride brings us a morning sun
Awaking eyes will taste.

I've seen days that couldn't be better,
You might find yourself to say.
But then more treasure's again revealed,
Feeling fall's museful, stirring way.

We're all heading for the mountains just east of San Diego this Sunday for our annual "changing of the colors" picnic. I do love the brilliant colors y'all get in those climes with the changing seasons. Just wish i could have all the colors without the snow! beautiful pic Linda.

TREES

by: Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Good Lord does that bring back a memory. I had to memorize that poem in grade school. Thanks for sharing that Brian.

You haven't even had any intermediate classes yet. Like how to get up out of a snow angel in DEEP snow without making it look like you got up....
