Disability Requirements?
Oct 28th, 2011 at 1:01pm

I've read the archives and am overwhelmed by the social security administration website.

Can somebody briefly explain the procedures to obtain disability benefits for those who suffer CH's?

This is what helped me. I had every ER, DR, Neuro paperwork from 1997 to 2003 plus after layed off from the company I worked for they wrote letter to SS along with my best friend and family and even co-workers letters. Appied Jan 2003 approved Sept 2003 on first try. That's just me how I was excepted. Terry

Go to your local office and apply.  Have your poop in a scoop with your Doctors letter of disability.

But I have no doctor, nor health insurance to get a doctor and have been doing the past 12 weeks on my own.

Now what are my chances of getting disability, slim or none?

Are you chronic? The (very) few here who get SSD are intractable chronics. And yes, you will need a doctor. Look up Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in your area and talk to them. They often provide a dr to evaluate you. They will also discuss options.

If you have legal aid out there, it might be a place to start.

You'll have to get in touch with an MD. It'll take several months at best.
