Enter The Welsh

Greetings fellow sufferers - I thought I'd join up as today is the anniversary of 12 months CH. I get them at 3.00am - 2.30pm and 8.30pm every bloody day and they won't give me oxygen because I smoke - so I take co - codamol and morphine. Thus I spend two thirds of the day as a part time zombie and the rest of it as an IT Training contractor - sometimes I combine the two which makes for some really interesting classroom sessions.

I have read just about everything on the subject and am only lucky that my Doctors partner also suffers from CH so she knows whats what so to speak.

Being an eternal optimist I believe that there will come a day when it all stops and I can lead a 'normal' life - in the meantime I have learnt to live around it as I'm not a quitter although the prospect of 25 years of it don't even bear thinking about - so the hell with it.

Anyway what I wanted to say was in response to alcohol. Far from triggering CH, my experiece is that it sort of helps. I only drink on one night per week and if I take one painkiller and a whole lot of Guiness, i don't get the headache!! Now this is fine at the time but you can't do this every day.
It seems we all have the same thing but have different ways of dealing with so I'm not really surprised that there is no cure for it.
Ah well
All the best to you all
Cheers

I question if you truly have CH's after the several statements you wrote.

You've read just about everything on CH's, yet you take co-codamol and morphine?

Your doctor's partner has CH's, yet you are unable to get o2 because you smoke?

Wear a nicotine patch and tell them you quit smoking and now they can prescribe.  Or just go get welders o2.

Drinking a whole lot of Guinness with a painkiller, but you do limit your intake to only 1 night a week?

I question if you truly have CH's and as Potter said...what you are doing is a recipe for disaster.

This is your 1st posting and I call BS!  Huh

He's in the UK and it can be really difficult to get O2 if you smoke.

Whats BS about it? The guy simply posted how he treats. Not the most prescribed treatment by far but it is what it is.

Start reading Penn.

One picture that comes to mind is, class over, lights out, doors locks, and on the nod, still sitting.

25 years of taking the same class over is no quitter.

How utterly delightful to be criticised by someone from a town that has the lowest reputation on Gods earth.
I will give you just a little more info and this will be the last communication with this site - I expected more and to be fair I'd like to say thanks to those others who have added positively.
Since the age of 18 I have HAD to take Co Codamol and morpine (now 65) due to a degenerative spine condition and have been refused other methods of pain control for the CH.
I'll get by however long it takes - and do it without the comments from some POS in Las Vegas
So thanks all the same and to those of you who have risen to my defence, I thank you.
I will not be reading whatever is posted in reply to this tirade and will now immediately unsubscribe to this elitist and unhelpful forum

Oh dear....last time I took my ball and went home...I was 12. My older brother thought it hilarious...and told me...grow up! Now 56...and a few years ago, I did.....

For new family members...nobody ran Pen off...he took his ball and went home. Took offense at a couple of replies...and has forsaken the BEST source of information, support, empathy, sympathy, love, tough love, scientific reference, humor, commradeship, and family that exists for clusterheads in the WORLD! Poor choice.....we are big boys and girls...we may disagree with your thoughts...SO WHAT...defend 'em...convince us...fight the fight with ch...with us. I have WAY more respect for someone who intelligently disagrees.... instead of slinking away. So...lurk brother, there's more to learn....being on fire and running AWAY from the lake....sheesh....

Insulting me and mine...over 9,500 brethern...as elitist and unhelpfull...because you can't handle two replies... well...I am reminded of a former boss who was fond of saying: "He's living proof that horse's asses outnumber horses". Now THAT'S a personal insult...that I can handle.

And BTW, mixing opiates and alcohol? Recipe for disaster is putting it mildly...and I don't give a damn 1 day or 7 day/wk...ch or no. Telling us LATER the reason for opiates...like we shoulda known....well, we aint mind readers. I got no problem with opiates used properly...have so myself...this don't sound such..

Best,

Jon

Oops...edited to add..."Nos Da"...don need to look it up...don care!

This speaks not of taking them for CH.

This does.

You are using medication prescribed for something else on CH.

And again, speakin of CH, your message was clear.
