hypothalamus enlarged in Cluster sufferers?
Nov 20th, 2011 at 5:54pm

Has anyone been told they have an enlarged hypothalamus? In my first ER for a cluster visit when they treated me for a "Migraine" back in 2003 they said they saw nothing wrong with me except for my hypothalamus was slightly enlarged. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I believe I got a cat scan. The hypothalamus I believe is responsible for circadian cycles and maintaining the bodies homeostasis among other things. I wonder if this would have an effect regarding clusters. has anyone researched or surveyed other physical attributes in clusters besides triggers? (I read the latest survey)
Regarding the homeostasis I normally have kinda low 100/70 blood pressure and lower than normal temp. Shadowing kip scale 3  (taken at doctors) can send my blood pressure to 140/90. My hands and feet are ice cold all the time. I am really hungry at night and can rarely sleep over 5 hours a night. My deepest sleep seems to be at 5-7 am if the beast doesn't strike.

I would be curious to hear about others if they are willing to share.

Hypothalamus, you say?

Poke around this site a bit. You'll be surprised what you find. Wink
