just finished pred taper
Nov 27th, 2011 at 5:24pm

Just need to vent! Just finished today my 10 day pred taper and I dont know if the eveil side effects of this drug is even worth the few pain free times! My anxiety is through the roof seems more when tapering than  when on the higher dose? I feel detached from reality almost really weird! I cant wait to be off this drug I can honestly say its almost not worth the side effects!
Thanks for listening guy's

Hi Anthony,

Sorry you have been having such a hard time. These headaches suck. Smiley I have only experienced gut related side effects related to prednisone...never mood related, but we are all different as you know. Hopefully, you will be feeling better now that the taper is over. Have you started the vitamin regimen that Batch recommends? I just started today. Maybe that might help. Worth a try. Here if you need an ear!

That bites Tony. Angry I get a little edgy and grumpy, and my back breaks out like a 15 year olds face when I go off, but that's been it for side effects for me. Hoping you catch a break soon.

Hopefully your Verap/Lithium combo starts helping really soon.

Hang in there!

Prednisone can cause all sorta mood and temperament changes (such as a hotter temper) indeed.  Sad

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

I feel for you.  Sucks.....

I don't have the mood/temperment side effects.  Well, maybe I do, but I always attribute that to some initial depression realizing I'm heading into a cycle.

I am, however, convinced that prednisone ends up making my cycle worse.  The last three cycles I've done a pred taper and not only did I end up getting some really nasty hits toward the end of the taper, I ended up getting more per day and at higher kips than normal.  I know cycles can change, but I realized it's just not worth it with the last cycle.  I had great results from O2 this cycle. That, combined with some injectible trex and I think I'm a lot better off with the abortives and just skipping the pred.  I won't take it next cycle, that's for sure.

My experience and viewpoint is a few days of PF time is well worth the sore knees and extra moodiness.

When I've tried it the relief from CH has been great, just a minor problem of it making me want to eat anything and everything. Even cardboard would taste good!
