CH and the weather (Read 1250 times)

bm7680 CH.com Junior Offline Posts: 32 New York Gender:	CH and the weather Nov 30^th, 2011 at 12:13am I find my CHs get even worse when it rains or when its overcast out while on sunny days I rarely have attacks. Has anyone else noticed this? I also found that now with less hours of daylight my attacks are more frequent as well. I felt like I did better in the summertime when the days were longer. ???

Less sun means less vitamin D production, which seems to be linked to avoiding CH based on Batch's vitamin D supplements, which is proving successful for so many of us.

It does sound like you'd benefit from the "Batch regimen". I stay on it year round since it helped with my last cycle. I should have been on cycle now so crossing my fingers that Batch's Magic is keeping beasty at bay. Joe

As Joe said, barometric pressure can be a big trigger. If it's overcast or rainy, chances are the pressure is pretty low. I live in New Jersey and one of the worst headaches I've ever had was after hurricane Irene came by this past August (massive low-pressure system). Similarly, I go to school in Wisconsin and after a particularly nasty storm that spawned a tornado or two nearby I was a wreck. So in short, that's not unusual at all. In addition, even though I'm chronic and don't have cycles the way someone who's episodic does, the change of seasons usually gets me going into a high cycle. I myself haven't done the vitamin regimen yet (doctor says to wait because I'm trying a new preventative and he won't know what's doing what), but it does sound like a good plan for you based on all I've read on here.

Hello I live in ny too! Do you live in nyc? check your pm's. I notice weather change from bad to good or good to bad makes my head funky! Its about in barometric change.

When epidsodic...after a number of years...I noticed I always seemed to be wearing sunglasses when visiting the O2 shop. Started wondering if "bright light" was a trigger. Nope....it was the barometric change from low to high pressure (not so much the opposite)....as extended sunny days had minimal effect. This took years to determine as I live in Seattle....and extended sunny days are a rarity....

Best bet...know YOUR triggers (they vary more with this condition than is fair!)...and be prepared.

Its been raining in NY ALOT lately to say the least..its been raining for a few days this week and I have had the worst immaginable headaches I have ever known with NO breaks or NO relief. And the worst part is we are going to get rain tomorrow as well. Can someone please make the damn rain go away so I can get some relief?? I am soooo exhausted right now!
