Do your cycles vary?
Dec 8th, 2011 at 8:16am

My husband is in cycle.  This one is different from the previous ones.  Generally they last about 5-6 weeks.  He is now getting ready to start week 8.  The past few weeks have been on the lighter side but last night he said it seems as though he is getting ready for them to get bad again.  The sinus is clogging again.  He actually had 2 pain free days last weekend and was so happy that it seemed his extra long cycle had finally ended.  He was so upset when this was not the case.  So again, my question is have your cycles ever varied from cycle to cycle and still remained episodic?  I am terrified of this turning chronic.

Thanks,

Lori

I can't advise you since I am a chronic, but in general, yes cycles do vary among both chronics and episodics. Other conditions can also exacerbate the cycle, such as sinus problems. Just keep attacking them with all you've got! Blessings. lance

Yep.  For the 1st 20 years my episodes were 4 to 6 weeks long with an 8 or 9 month remission between.
At age 40 the episodes got longer but so did the remission periods.  My last cycle was 5 months long but that was almost 7 years ago and I haven't had one since.

Mine are usually 6 to 12 weeks, every other yr, only on odd numbered years.

Had a 6 yr remission.

Currently in cycle...month 5. Angry

Hi there,

Cycles certainly vary. Mine definitely have...but the good news is that although I suffered my longest cycle this last time at 6 months strong when they had previously been 2 months...it ended!! And now I have been a year and 1/2 headache free. So, no need to panic.

Your husband is a lucky man to have support and concern.

Good luck with the cycle ending soon.
