Time to find a new GP
Dec 15th, 2011 at 4:03am

I have found a great CH specialist who has recommended all the right stuff, the problem I have is my GP is reluctant to write the prescriptions - because " its quite expensive you know"!!!! Had quite a heated discussion today and she finally said she would look into the oxygen - doesn't sound to convincing does it.
Oh and if she calls my CH's "migraines" any more I might smack her round the side if her head with a baseball bat and shove a pencil in her eye  Grin.
Time to change Dr I think.

Email the attached to your PCP or print it out and hand it to her.  Sounds like she's overdue for some CME on primary headaches.

It was written by Dr. Arne May, MD, one of the worlds leading experts in diagnosis and treatment of patients with cluster headache.

Tell your doctor she'll find oxygen therapy at a flow rate of 15 liters/minute at the top of the list of acute treatments for cluster headache.

Once you've got the Rx for oxygen therapy... and be sure to get a hard copy...  You're good to go...  The rest is easy.

Oh yes... cost... A month's worth of home oxygen therapy is a fraction of the cost of a months worth of sumatriptan succinate (imitrex).

Take care,

V/R, Batch

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there
