Checked Coffee Mugs for scratches
Dec 18th, 2011 at 4:49pm

I have suffered since 1997, and had really bad years full of pain in 2004,
2007, and 2008.
Many doctors suggest keeping journal,
and watching diets, and all the regular stuff...
but one day I read about how Rome had cups made
out of lead...and that it drove
the elite "insane" and what not...

It made me go take a look at all the cheap coffee mugs
I have in my cupboards...and I realized my metal spoon
stiring have scrapped up the insides of the cups (Fiercely)
so I threw out all the mugs, and went and bought three
new ones.  I only stir now with a plastic spoon...

and have noticed intesity and durations to be shorter...
however, it is so unconscious I am not really sure if
there is connections or not. I go to other's houses and
forget to ask for plastic spoons, and even drink out of
their cups you know... and I don't really see a trend
or differnce or connection...

except that I recently spent two weeks at my mom's
and used her scrapped up cups and by Friday of week 2,
I had an episode hit....

Has anyone tried or experimented with their coffee mugs
or noticed stronger pains correlated with it?

There are so many daily factors...we make choices
and the toxins most are able to overcome have to be
factored in to the "allergic" or "seizures" that
we are experiencing...

Just asking. Thanks for help and info. Hugs.
Happy Holidays.

The levels of lead in food and drink today are the lowest in history---90 percent lower than 12 years ago. This is mostly due to the U.S. food industry's voluntary elimination of lead solder to seal the seams of food cans and the removal of lead from automobile gasoline that settled on crops and in water.

But concern still remains about lead leaching into food from ceramic ware, especially mugs. While analyzing risks from dietary lead, FDA scientists found that about 80 percent of adult exposure to lead from food in contact with ceramic hollowware comes from frequent or daily use of mugs for hot beverages.

Now both paragraphs seem to do both, discredit and add merit to Lead exposure being related to CH. Yet perhaps its only 1 piece of the puzzle, and/or only for some.

My wife is pregnant and drinks a lot of coffee & tea, which is now a concern.
Risk to Fetus
In a February 1992 report to the Society of Toxicology, FDA scientists said there can be a substantial incremental risk to a developing fetus from lead leaching into food from ceramic hollowware.

Thanks for the info.

Have you been actually diagnosed with cluster headaches????  Cluster headcahes have nothing what-so-ever to do with allergies or seizures and certainly not lead on our coffee cups.  Although lead is  a bad thing of course.

Please start reading around here.  An educated sufferer hurts a lot less.

Never had the opportunity to look inside my favorite coffee mug (seen in my profile photo) due to my piss-poor attitude during a recent attack that resulted in the mug smashed to a zillion pieces and white powdery dust.   Shocked

I've since learned from my childish behavior and now safely use recycled paper cups to enjoy the fine taste of Starbucks Christmas blend as often as this joyous season offers. Wink
