I dunno, LF. Seems to me that if jerkin' the gherkin worked to abort CH for others as well as it appears to for you, CH would be an exclusively 'female' disease. However, since masturbation isn't an exclusively male activity and blood is drawn to the area being stimulated by both sexes, it (masturbation) should be effective for both sexes. No?

Just hoping to re-stimulate the conversation.
What if it lasts more than four hours?
That's when you go to every house on the block and order the females outside (at this point,it does not matter weather they are single or not,as this is a medical emergency that needs to be resolved immediately) just line em up and do what you do best...now for some of you that live in the country (go to the nearest farm or ranch) and get yourself a cute, sexy, voluptuous farm animal and work your magic.....Lenny

i sure hope none of you animal lovers are going to jump on me for this one  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Not very informative, but an entertaining thread !!   Wink

When I have an attack coming, the LAST thing on my mind is sex, and I think arousal would be very hard ! (pun intended)

this is the first time I have ever seen headaches as a reason/excuse for sex rather than a reason or excuse to not have sex

although it should be noted he didnt say sex he did say he lets it die down...

I (am not in cycle now and hopefully never am again but am approaching that time from last year) but to echo the sentiment that when I was having an attack I dont think a team of supermodels dressed as cheerleaders could do more than simply hold me and say "poor baby"

I haven't seen any research on this for Cluster, but there was related research on it for Migraine 10 years or so ago. It was found that orgasm aborts a Migraine for some - men and women - and compared it to medications for Migraine relief. Was going to post a link, but got an error message that I haven't posted enough to be allowed to post a link yet, so here's a journal source for anyone who's interested:

Evans, Randolph W. & Couch, R. (2001). "Orgasm and Migraine." Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain 111 (6), 512-514.

This same subject arose recently amongst our ladies and I offered to assist in any way I could. Purely in the interests of science, of course.

That doesn't go for blokes.

Dang Aussies…Sheilas on the brain, those blokes…they’d rather roast a roo, wrestle a croc, crack a slab o’ tinnies, tucker in a wiggly grub, and explore a mappa tassie than give a mate’s old fella a lift to crack a fat (for Family, of course).  It’s a  piece of piss that’s a shag on a rock if ya ask me. London to a brick…. I’m just gobsmacked and stonkered. Buncha furphy ……sheesh!

Walzing Matilda my ass ya…ya…ya  Larrikin!!!!

I love the three exclamation points.  I wasn't going to read the post at first, because I thought there were only two exclamation points, and who wants to read a post with only two exclamation points?  But then I recounted and decided it was worthy of my attention!!!

I suppose I don't have to admit this, but I'm going to anyway.  I was going to post this same discovery the last time I was in cycle.  I am fortunate to have long remission periods  with several shadows throughout, so I don't usually get warning when I'm going to get an attack and don't usually have oxygen on hand.

During my last cycle, my wife and I discovered that this technique was helpful.  She jokes that nothing deters me from wanting to have sex.  Not a cold, or the flu, exhaustion or pneumonia, nothing but a cluster headache.  I was hit with a bad attack and we didn't have any oxygen.  As a joke and in an effort to take my mind off of the pain, if only for a moment, my wife "started" things.  We were both surprised that it did help.  The attack went from unbearable to just painful.  I realize that is a relative expression, but it was enough to allow things to progress and the more things progressed, the better I felt.

Since then, we have used the technique from time to time when oxygen isn't available.  It's my favorite, by the way.  I feel I suffer enough, it's nice to have a side benefit from these awful attacks. Wink  My wife, of course, regrets the discovery, since now there isn't anything that deters me.

For any guys trying to convince their support system to try this, good luck!  I would love to hear that conversation.  My wife would never have believed me if she wasn't the one that discovered it.

I realize that it's not worth much, but there's my two cents.

Funny, just last night a friend joked I should tell my wife her "services" are required to prevent a CH.

On a related note this "method" worked for me once, just once, but hasn't again. Glad you have something that works for you Leagalize.

What else we got?

Atomic fireballs under the tongue. Works to knock one out about 70% of the time and Burts Bees peppermint chapstick applied to the eyelid on the affected side, also 70% of the time.
