Song about Cluster Headaches?
Jan 19th, 2012 at 5:12pm

So a few years back I remember my hubby telling me how Pierre, the lead singer for Simple Plan had cluster headaches and the untitled song from their first hit album was about CH.  I can't find any info on the internet about it which would make sense if he didn't want people to know about it.  But Chris was in a regionally popular band at the time and I think he heard it through the grapevine once and then again on a radio interview.  Anyway, this is the video... What do you think?  It's overtly aimed at drinking and driving but the CH references are there.  Specifically the image of an alcohol bottle followed immediately by someone sucking o2 from a mask.  Then at the end when the other characters (who aren't shown to be connected at all to the girl in the car wreck) are thrown across the room as if they were "hit" as well...

Oh well, I guess they are related to that girl.  Either way, I'm sure, overtly they are just depicting how the loss of that girls life screwed up her family as well, BUT I still think it's related to getting "hit" by a CH too...

If you want to watch and listen to a great music video about cluster headache, watch the link below:

It's titled: "What's Wrong With Me"  with music & lyrics and performance by Dr. Fred Sheftell, MD, Past President, American Headache Society...

Fred lost his battle with cancer last year...  and that was a BIG LOSS for all of us and CHe'rs everywhere...  He did more battle for CH'ers than most...

He brought good science to the complex task of helping CH'ers find effective ways of controlling this terribly disabling disorder, educating neurologists and CH'ers all over the world on best practice diagnosis & treatment standards of care, and support for continued cluster headache research...

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Sheftell in early 2010, when AHS took on the liberal progressive Daschelite bureaucrats at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) over their incredibly stupid and politically motivated policy that old folks will just need to suffer more under their brand of socialized medicine.  Their policy denies coverage for home oxygen therapy to Medicare beneficiaries who suffer from cluster headache...

These arrogant low-life Illuminati claimed there was insufficient proof that oxygen therapy was an effective abortive for cluster headache.  They also cited a lack randomized double-blind placebo controlled crossover studies proving the effectiveness of oxygen therapy for CH'ers 65 and older and that it didn't improve the outcome...

HELLO...  Earth to the hand full of morons at CMS who made this pitiful excuse to support your awful coverage determination ruling... (none of whom, I might add, have any clinical experience as a practicing neurologist so they've never seen a patient present with a CH let alone treat one... ) There is no cure for cluster headache so there is no improved outcome!...  Moreover, the Gold Standard for inclusion in a clinical study by age is 17 to 65... so would exclude many CH'ers in this category.

Sorry about that...  Here's the link...  Enjoy...

If there was ever to be an International anthem for cluster headache...  this is an excellent candidate...
Take care,

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there
