Update on Doctor Visit
Feb 1st, 2012 at 8:04am

Went to the Doc yesterday. What a great guy who listens to all my concerns and questions and works with and my primary. He added Verapamil 120 mg (low dose to start) to the 200mg topamax, but also added 13 day taper of prednisone to kick down the HA (hopefully) and let the other drugs work. I have a 2 week follow up call with him to see how it's working. If not, we will either kick up the Verapamil, the Topamax, or both. We also sketched out a go-forward plan for the next cycle. He is also concerned I'm trending towards chronic as my cycles are getting longer with, more frequent, and less break in between. Let's hope for the best. Thanks for all your support, I know you all understand all too well.

Here's to many PF days ahead.

I also hope this works for you. And as you've noted, the dose for verapamil is pretty low leaving you lots of room to go up if it doesn't work as presently prescribed. I would opt for increasing the verapamil over the topamax, but that's just because the topamax was so detrimental to my health in general. We are all different, though, and I pray you find a way to tame the beast. Blessings. lance
