i dont know if anyone will ever read this but i suffer with ch and have just found this site. i have it really bad with up to 6 attacks in a day . the only thing that makes any difference is 20MG IMIGRAN NASAL SPRAY! im telling you this stuff is amazing!!!! 5 mins and im bk to normal

now the down side.....no not side effects! the doctors hate giving it out cos its not cheap! without this drug life is not worth living for the weeks/months i have ch ....the max dose is 2 sprays per day so i try save that relief for work and sleep so i only suffer with the pain in my own time not work time!....

i have found this drug for sale on drfox.com its not cheap but i can not survive without it!!! if it cost everything i owned i would still pay it!!! no pills work for me and they only kick in after i am banging my head off the end of the bed sooooo please go and beg your doc for this drug . if one person manages to get this from the doc please send me a message to say thanks so i know i didnt waste my time writing this post!.........i promise you it is a wonder drug and doesnt mask the pain it solves it and helps dissrupt the clusters till they go away!!!

more people must know about this the price should never be a doctors first concern it makes me sick i suffer so badly with this illness i want to die and i have had it for many years on and off so please make that appointment!!!! and trust meeeee!!!! .......thank me later ., dont forget!!! Smiley

thank you very much i am off to the docs tomorrow to see about o2 cant wait to give it a try . it seems the docs over here in london dont seem to know much about ch i really have to fight for help .....brain scan, eye test ,given up many foods and drinks b4 they told me what i had and now they dont seem to understand how important imigran is to the pain they just think im a silly bloke with a headache that wont stop moaning

Imitrex nasal spray comes in 10 mg and 20 mg dosages here in the US.  I have found that I can either take 2 20mg nasal sprays a day or 4 10 mg nasal sprays a day.  For me the 10mg works just as well as the 40mg so I go that route.  I understand very well about frequent hits  I used to get hit 8 times a day each lasting 1 1/2 hours long.  The bad thing to this is that the insurance companies like to regulate how much imitrex you can use during a month.  My dr was willing to write out a script for unlimited trex not to exceed 4 doses at 10mg a day.  The insurance company would only give me two small boxes of imitrex that did not come close to lasting a week much less a month.  Oxygen is a life saver check it out.

karla i didnt know they did it in 10ml nasal sprays and ur rite i do need more sprays than im allowed to take in 24 hours but i had such trouble getting them off the doc i dont wana rock the boat .....we have nhs over here so dont need to worry about insurance its the docs that wont give it out cos they dont hit there monthly targets if they give out 2 many meds !! they are private enterprise these days ruled by nhs guidelines sad but true god forbid they loose there yearly bonus !! lol

oh they dont tell you they wont give it u cos of the cost they arnt stupid they say that its not ment for regular use on a daily bases! lol.... just got bk from the doc they have refered me to a neurologist .....again and say they cant give me o2 as they cant prescribe it these days and also told me 100% o2 can make u blind! ......i have now got a prescription for a weeks worth of imigran 10ml nasal spray and if they work i can take 4 per day so thats a start untill a month later when i go see the neurologist when my clusters are already gone anyway !!! grrrrr x

No your not missing anything the GPs are ill informed.
It may be that in the UK only the Nuros can give out scripts for o2 but as far as going blind, well I should be getting around with a white cane after the length of time I have used o2.

The furfy about o2 being a fire risk is also a bit skewed; you cant actually get oxygen alone to burn, I've tried it but if you mix it with another flammable gas it will go up like the 4 ^th of July, it's a bit like trying to light a piece of wet wood it wont burn for zip but throw some petrol on it & away you go.

Hopefully someone from the UK can come in shortly & fill you in on a quicker way of getting the o2.

I'd have been permanently blind years ago if I DIDN'T have O2 (e.g., pushing up daisies).

the docs dont know much but ive been on the case tonight it turns out the chemist dont have it anymore its all been made private by the government !! have to see neurologist who then tells the doctor they can prescribe it to me or not cos the doc can only give it to people with breathing problems so there hands are tied......its taken 10 phone calls to find that out . the doc cant even ring the neurologist up and ask him it all has to be done by email these days this country is fucked!!!!

Your doctor is telling you a load of bollocks.He can prescribe you O2.

4.3.4 Short burst oxygen
4.3.4.1 Short burst oxygen therapy (SBOT) refers to oxygen provided for intermittent
breathlessness in those patients assessed as not requiring long term (LTOT)
or ambulatory oxygen.
4.3.4.2 Traditionally, SBOT has been prescribed to relieve breathlessness where a
patient is at rest or following exercise. A clinician may order SBOT for
episodic breathlessness that has not been relieved by other treatments for
patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung
disease and heart failure. A clinician may also order SBOT as symptomatic
relief – for example, as part of palliative care or for those patients suffering
from migraine or cluster headaches. A clinician will indicate on the Home Oxygen Order where short burst oxygen is required usually providing this
information as a specific flow rate with an indication of intermittent need.

And ask him to look in hin BNF (the Dr's prescribing bible) 4.7.4.3 where it says the only 2 treatments for cluster headache are Imigran injections and O2.

Who in London is your Dr. making an appointment with - Does he specialise in headache conditions?

rod im guna forward that message on to my doctor tomorrow thats wicked thanks for that!  it seems you have to fight for any help in this country . i would love to let them live just one day with the pain that we go thro it might stop them thinking about money and more about their DUTY OF CARE!!!
i spoke to the hospital today who said the doc CAN give it to me and when the nhs neurologist finally sees me all he will do is tell the doc to give it to me!!!  ....that could take months on the nhs and i need it yesterday!!...but in his words they are scared to prescribe it cos they dont understand ch and the 2 main things that do help  (o2 and imigran!) he understood and told me the only way i can beat this red tape is to pay to see a private neurologist for one session and get him to tell my doc to give it to me the downside is it will cost a lot of money that i dont have as im self employed and havent been able to do half of the work i should be due to ch!! think i might stick it on the credit card it seems that is the only way to get what i need. it makes me sick!!!where does the tax i have paid non stop since i started work at 16 end up ?!?! i hate this country its in a mess!!!!!why will the doctors not just take a risk and learn about it rater than pass the buck
