Try this?
Mar 27th, 2012 at 3:46am

I've recently been holding an ice cube against the roof of my mouth with my tongue, and what seems to be the beginning of an episode goes away in a few minutes, never getting to the chronic stage.  It has only been a few days but has so far been repeatable every time.  Good luck.

Welcome to the board, mojo. I often bite on an ice cube while holding an ice pack against my jaw/face. Seems to help or at least changes the pain from the cluster type to a freezing type.

You're not the first person that's specifically said holding the ice against the roof of the mouth acted as an abort. I tried it but had no success.  Cry Hoping it keeps beasty at bay for you. Wink

Welcome, mojo

As Joe & Bob have said it's not new but a good one to have in the armoury for when you may need it.

You'll find after time that what worked last time may not work the next; we need to be on constant alert for when the changes do happen, O 2 is my best friend but last high cycle it wouldn't work completely without a cold pack to the head at the same time followed by a cold pack after to keep the rebound away, will that work next time ? I'll have to wait & see.
Cheers
Barry
