...every once in a while I revisit my regrets...I don't dwell on 'em...not many...but more than a truly grateful man should have. I report only as a caution...regrets....are not somethin' you wanna have....

The above men ...well...THOSE are the ROOT of the blues..THOSE gentlemen. I love music...it stirs my soul...and The Blues... more than any other. Goose bumps....still...

Anyway, in 1976, I was a student at the University Of Washington. Frequently traveled what is called "Red Square". No politics involved...it is a magnificent collection of brick buildings...including libraries, lecture halls, and auditoriums. To be there is to realize there is something larger and more beautiful and awesome  than one...like me..who was raised in a tiny farm town, could ever imagine.

One day...in my usual daze...I passed a hall with a sign that said "Brownie Terry and Sonny McGhee appearing tonight". I'd heard of them...but really knew nothing OF them....not yet an accolyte of THE music. My head said GO, my heart said GO.....but, my soul was deficient. Said I, I'll see 'em NEXT time.....One or both were gone a few years later...and I NEVER saw them as they SHOULD be seen...in live performance.

I frequently reflect on that...I had the chance to SEE them...and blew it.....

The head, the heart...they rule...please...don't forget the soul...it may be the most important.
