Go to the "Meds, Treatments, Therapies" board and read the "123 Days PF and I think I know why" thread started by Batch. It's a long read . . . more and more are trying this and it's working for many . . . it's actually a bit strange NOT having to avoid formerly guaranteed triggers like alcohol, exhaust fumes, certain chemicals.
Re your skin problems. I've been meaning to post this in the appropriate place . . . and will . . . but I want to pass along a product that may help. Go to alwyncream.com and find the "one-time offer" They will send you two jars of cream (normal price $30 ea) for $10 and they pay the shipping.
I and my daughter and grandson suffer an often crippling skin condition called EB (short for Epidermolysis-bulosa, simplex, Weber/Cockayne type). It's a blistering condition . . . mostly hands and feet, but anywhere where there's repeated friction. In 1999, we as a family were part of a "medical evaluation" of this product for several months and we have never found anything that came close to it for skin healing. It's great for sunburns or any type skin damage. A couple years ago, my daughter and grandson attended an EB event/mini convention at Disneyworld in Fla, sponsored by DEBRA (dystrophic epidermolysis-bulosa research association) and Glaxo was there with their version of this cream in a tube which contained the active ingredient allantoin (developed by Alwyn) which they provided samples to all the participants.
How good is it? If you order, get your two jars and if it doesn't work for you . . . keep one jar, let me know and I'll send you $12.50 to cover your cost and shipping if you'll send me the other jar . . . that's how good it is. It is non-greasy, absorbs very quickly, great for dry skin, instantly soothing on a sunburn (and you probably won't blister). Also works wonders on folks with cracking/bleeding skin (within 24 hours) . . . we call it our miracle cream. It doesn't contain steroids or cortizone, doesn't have anti-bacterial properties . . . so for a wound, make sure you use an antibiotic ointment for infection or the skin will heal over the infection.
No, I don't own stock (wish I did) in the company or get any kind of commission. I do however try and promote this product when/where I can as it's truly helped my family . . . just as I promote this site whenever I hear of anyone that might have or know someone that might have CH.
Be Safe, PFDANs
