Triggers during Prednisone time
May 9th, 2012 at 2:59pm

Hey gang,

Any of you that have been on Predinsone and have had good enouhg repsonse where it spots hit from happening during your cycle....

Have any of you tried any of your triggers when the taper was preventing attacks?

Did it cause attacks to resume or did the taper have such a good beat down on the beast it couldn't react to the triggers?

Thx

Certainly at the higher levels of the taper, but my experience has been pretty much the same as everyone's here: below a certain level, the prednisone loses all effect. And the tapers I've been on tend to reach that level pdq. blessings. lance

So would you say that as long as the taper is keeping you PF by itself then using a trigger probably won't bring on an attack,

but

once the taper is at a level where the beast starts hitting again then all bets are off?

For me yes. At doses as low as 30 mg I can have a beer or two and not worry. On RARE occasions,  Wink I have put myself on a pred taper for an anniversary, wedding, graduation, some big event where I absolutely, positively, didn't wanna spoil the event with beasty making an appearance. This was mostly in the days before I had trex and 02. Obviously a slippery slope to play on and not one you'd wanna visit often. Smiley

Thats for the data guys.

Had an event last night and with my taper being 50mg currently I figured I'd give it a try and have some drinks. I don't like explaining to people who know I drink, why I am not drinking. Not that it is any of anyone's business, but people make polite conversation so then I have to either answer politely the truth and go into it all and by now I'm sick of it all and don't want to talk about it, or lie and I'm not good at that.

Anyways, I had a pretty good amount to drink and the beast stayed asleep! I must admit Joe that I  was pretty nervous though as I started drinking that first drink!

I also havce been doing the Batch D3 thingy for a week or so now and I had a little extra of that today, spaced out as well, for full disclosure.

Now I know I can do like you do Lance and give myself a taper for a important event.
