Awesome news on all counts!  PS: What's your "Words" name?

I looked in the obituaries, and my name wasn't there.

I didn't hit the deer that ran out in front of my car     at  55 mph the other day and I didn't have a heart attack afterwards.

    O.K., O.k.....

I have a husband and 7 kids who love me.
I have the most wonderful friends in the world.
I've been PF for some time now.

Great thread!  I met the love of my life a year and a half ago and got married in May.  He's the only person I've ever met who can make me laugh during a hit.  My attitude is much better because of him.  And he's an engineer with a good job.  I don't have to worry so much about financial security anymore.  It's a big relief.

I'm really becoming a master of facilitating (usually difficult!) group trainings with my customers at the Apple Store.  They're loving it and I'm honing some useful public speaking and teaching skills.  Heck, I'm even learning to be more humble and admit to my hearing loss so we can all communicate better.  Um, shucks.   Cheesy

This thread was a genius idea!
Just what the "Dr. ordered"!

My daughter made honor roll again and is moving on to the 5th grade Smiley) And my son who has struggled big time with learning disabilites and has been in a selfcontained class for years now (a small class of 7 or so kids) was mostly honor roll during his first year in middle school and is going to start to be integrated into mainstream classes next year!
My Hubby still puts up with all my crap and we will be married 14 yrs officially in 8 days! (been together 16 yrs)!  And he amazingly has been able to make me laugh durng a hit too!   Shocked

Tomorrow morning I fly to Arizona for a week's work on an Indian reservation with some of the teens from our church'es youth group.  We'll be holding Vacation Bible School, doing some ministry in nursing homes, ministering in the Church, and participating in a Jail ministry.  I'm really looking forward to this opportunity.  Southeast Arizona in July is not my idea of a vacation spot, but we aren't going for vacation!   Wink

Jerry

I'll be out of communication for 10 days.  I'll miss you all, but it will be a great trip.

Wow, what a difference a month made.  You are correct that this child wouldn't have made it 20-25 years ago.  Prayers from Kentucky for this little fighter.

Congrats Marc.  Our twins were 8 weeks premature and spent 4-5 weeks in NICU.  It's amazing to see them grow and develope every day they are in there.

My two cents:

Wonderful wife, two irratating teenagers and a great dog.  Also - managing to make a good living in a tough economy, own my house, got no debt and seem to be coming out of this cycle.  But the best news for me?

My son had Aplastic Anemia (basically a complete failure of the bone marrow) a little over two years ago.  Tough to watch a 14 year old have to get blood infusions, chemo, self injections and massive amounts of ungodly large pills three times a day.  Bottom line is got his last test results yesterday - blood counts are all good and have been stable for the last six months, off all the drugs.  Doc's comment was his results were "boring".  He will probably always have low platelets - so my back up plan of him becoming a Marine is probably toast - but other than that I think the kid is going to be OK.

Lumi:  There is SOOOOO much good news happening and I am so out of touch.      You got a cigarette?

Nuppu:  I know, since we're moving, Sanna disconnected the cable already.  I have no idea what the stock market is doing.

Lumi:  And no Facebook!

Nuppu:  You HAD to wash the cell phone in your jeans, too.

This is what it leads to, now we have to talk.  Crap.

Lumi:  Why is Sanna home all day, was she fired?  She's getting...well, chubby.

Nuppu: She's on leave and the baby's in her tummy.  And chubby!  Damn girl, they said you were a guinea pig at the pet store, not a baby hippo.

Lumi:  This is just long fluffy hair, I still fit in the same jeans...

Nuppu:  The jeans we hang as curtains while they dry???

Oh look, here we have to talk and now we're arguing.

Lumi: Yeah, actually Sanna is prettier than ever, and so glowing.  We'll have a rascally sister and a bigger place, I can't wait.  Are we going to have separate bedrooms?

Nuppu:  No, silly...

Lumi:  Wait a minute!  I'm certainly the adorable one, you must be silly!

Nuppu:  Are not.

Lumi:  Am too.

Nuppu:  Sweet god of happily ever after, deliver me!

Lumi:  Well, I'll be taking a bath now.

I met a fellow sufferer for lunch yesterday.  Funny how quickly we became friends.  It was a great day.  During my late night recovery from a K9 (my worst in a LONG time), he called me.  Talk about helpful.  Thanks to you all.  I read and gain from your posts.  CH has given me the opportunity to realize how fortunate I am.

I've replicated this experience dozens of times, and yet I'm STILL amazed at how  fast we become great friends. My latest vistim was Dennis "The Crackin" up in Massachusettes. We planned a 30 minute coffee and donut meet, stretched into a couple of hours.  Wink

And i agree, through this "malady" I've met all of my closest friends! Not to mention Jimi, my "brother from another mother"  Smiley

Somewhere near the Monterey Bay area.  I am not exactly sure which part of the state that is, as I am still a bit confused with where everything is at in CA.
