Should I keep taking Verapamil?
Aug 19th, 2012 at 9:29pm

Since I was officially diagnosed with CH, a little under 2 years ago (after 10+ years of suffering), I now take Verapamil when 'in season' (July and November).  It;s made the world of difference.  Sometimes, one or two attacks get through, but, I'm mostly CH free Smiley

I have now stopped taking Verapamil, and while I'm not getting an attack, I'm getting definite shadows.  After many years, I've come to recognise he beast...

As said, I haven't actualy got an attack, but, having stopped the Verapamil in the last few days, should I re-start it for an extra couple of weeks?

I'm sure I don't have to point out the dread of an attack to anyone here...the latest I've ever had an attack in the summer months at the end of the July bout is August 11th...

If you cycles are as regular as you report then it would make sense to take the Verap for about 4-wks after the latest ending date of a cycle.

Thee is no medical reason for not taking it.

I have experienced what I might call "detox shadows" when dialing back meds after a cycle. If you can't blow them away with oxygen in a few days, then I would continue the verap for a few weeks... cycle may not be over.

Yeah, I agree with the above but I'm uncomfortable without the caveat: do so under a doctor's supervision. There may indeed by a medical reason for your taking it otherwise, and it could be unsafe to simply drop it. Otherwise, I concur with the above. blessings. lance
