My cluster period started a few weeks ago.  Just shadows at first, for about a week, and then a big one.  And then another.  I steadily went from one a day to four a day.  I peaked at this amount, injecting myself with 24mg of Imitrex throughout the day.

During my 4th or 5th round at the ER (my physician is always out of pocket) they injected me with nerve blockers.  This is the only variable I can think of that could interfere with my conclusion in this topic.  But on to the real subject:

What provides me with relief?  I've heard plenty of people say caffeine does the trick.  I've tried regular coffee, caffeine pills and en the biggest Redbull they sell with absolutely no results.  Please don't laugh, scoff or (if you're in the middle of a cluster cycle) hate me for seemingly misleading you, I assure you that's not my intention.

I have found relief in Dunkin Donuts Extra Large Dunkaccino.
This thing is a whopping $2.50.  It's on the menu, and no I did not mean cappuccino.  It's like hot chocolate with espresso or something, but I swear as soon as I tried this freakin thing my headaches went away.  I woke up at 2 AM the night after or the next night and the cycle continued right where it left off.  Then 2 days after I got another one because I thought it was so good, and bam it ended it again.  I'm willing to ride this entire cycle out regardless of the 1000 or so calories that's in this thing.

Like I said, caffeine has never worked for me before.  I'm pretty sure Redbulls have their fair share.  Someone test this and confirm my findings please, and I hope to God I'm not an idiot and you find relief.

Never heard of out of pocket for health care for our military.

Potter.  Get.  Off.  My.  Fucking.  Back.

You don't know how the Marine Corps works.  You don't just walk into BAS and talk to your medical officer.

Then you are presenting the variable that seemingly nulls my hypothesis, which is what I was afraid of.  Are you episodic or chronic?

It's been a week now. I wonder how many volunteers there are for this "study."

Because we all know that threads are owned by people.

Seems some thread "owners" become a little sensitive when their ideas come into question and start getting called out for the nonsense they are.

But that's not what's going on here, the content of my thread isn't being called into question, I am.  As if I have some ulterior motive behind this.  What in the fuck do I have to gain from presenting this idea and conducting this experiment?  You are finding joy in harassing the fuck out of me.  Don't you have children that need your attention?

In fact, Brew, since you can't leave it alone, I'm going to utilize this little ignore button under your username.  Should've done this from the start.

Since the point earlier in this thread where I stated I was done with you, I have not addressed you directly. But since you seem to have a need to pick the scab, I challenge you to point out one instance in this thread where I criticized you personally and not your ideas.

From the clusterheadaches.com Standard of Conduct:
Quote:
Debate is welcome (and encouraged), but attack ideas and opinions; not personalities.

Methinks you need to reevaluate how you separate your personality from your thoughts and ideas.

And please tone down the language - kids read this stuff.

Fu@@@k  it. I'm gonna set my self up here.

That jerking off theory is wanked!!  I'm sure their is at least one guy in here that don't masturbate?? Right? Someone (male) stand up and tell this guy he is wrong. Someone??? Anyone???

Anyway, I believe it is a bad link in the DNA chain. As we evolved as a species, that Gene has modified its self, kind of a splice off the old migraine gene. I think it goes way way way back, to the days of migration.

Yes, that's right.. get over yourself, It wasn't just a couple thousand years ago we were still dragging our knuckles. And i think when the days grew shorter back then, we would start our migration.

I believe the gene developed as a response to migration, When we as a species stopped or failed to migrate... The brain would send out any warning that it could, and what gets the body up and moving faster than pain does?? thus the DNA evolved as a way to reset our brain clocks, And start or stop the migration process.  And so on, and so on, and so on.

So before you blast me, remember it was only about 100 years ago that we were able to pack and preserve food to share with the world, and even less time than that, we had aspirin.

Don't give up too soon, mate. There's some wankers make your theory look perfectly plausible.

Bill-
Going to ignore your theory for a moment and backtrack to the first part of your post:
Are you saying you're not one of those people?  If you are just give it a shot and stop giving it a wank.  My first CH free day was 5 days in.  It's not that ridiculous of a request to go a week without it...

EDIT:  More important than actually masturbating, is to NOT LOOK AT PORN for those 5 days, as viewing it is what delivers the dopamine rush.

Linda-
What I'm saying is I went straight from high school (18) to the military (22, now).  I'm still high school educated is what I mean.

Aussie-
Thanks for the vote of confidence mate, might be disappointed with my update though...

UPDATE:  Couldn't take it anymore.  Had to crank one out yesterday at about 10 days in (too many suggestive text messages from my girl).  Guess what came back?  Strong shadows.  First last night, that one wasn't too bad.   Then had one today while sitting in a classroom, got pretty intense and had to shoot myself with the 'ol Imitrex.

1 step forward and 5 steps back, personally, but it looks like 1 step forward as far as results in this little experiment.

So as of right now, for me, this is how it is going:

5 days after stopping masturbating, drastic reduction in amount of CH.  Over the next 5, no CH at all and drastic reduction in intensity of shadows.  Day 10, "relapsed" and experienced day 5 shadows and day 1-5 cluster kip level the following morning.

Hope that horrendous paragraph is discernible.

Also it should be noted that this was the first time I've had to use the Imitrex injection in about 5 days(too lazy to read my previous posts and find out exactly when).
