Old school warrior new to site

Hiya folks   Cool Ive dealt with the beast for about 19 of my 47 years . About 2002 i finally got an answer to what i had been dealing with i have ECH and wish none of us had to be here. On the other hand ITS SO COOL to find out there is other people that unfortunately/ actually know of this condition.  It gets to be a drag explaining every time some one asks ( partly because i hope in my world / heart that the info i give helps someone somewhere some how) so i give all the info i can in hope that knowledge is ammo to fight the battle that we fight never give up brothers and sisters we will prevail . I went through my battle 11/29/12 to 1/3/13 2 or 3 a day  which was odd for me my average is 2 mos a year 1 episode a day . I havent had a round like that for 10 years. i will take time to post what has seemed to work for me and hope it helps  Thanks to all who help

B back soon

Hi and welcome

Tell us more about what you've tried for your CH, what works and what doesn't and we'll be able to give you some advice based on our experiences.

Welcome, desertrat. As the Joe and Mike have said, we'd be happy to hear what is working and what isn't. We're especially interested when someone like you comes along because often treatments aren't based on the best of recent research. So drop us a line, and God bless. lance

The medical world has run me through the triptans , oxy, all the big name pain killers, and prednisone , man its tough to remember all the things that have been tried . At this point i have found that tramodol ( ultram ) works if i can get it in fast enough that being said  as with all the rest of us the big IF ( that part sucks ) when it takes in time i get relief before about 5 on the kip scale , on the other hand i get to play with the beast for about 1 to 1.5 hours. Another thing that helps is my martial arts training when i was younger i was tought to focus energy to accomplish things and have found focusing the pain away ( as best as one could  ) seems to take a slight edge off of the intensity . Im going back to the docs this year to see if there is anything new or helpful in the medical world   Undecidedand will keep updated info every time i find it. Its great to know there are people who genuinly understand what we go through wishing all PF days talk to you soon . Cool

If you have Cluster AND "all" the standard meds don't work for you--perhaps you don't have Cluster.

Or it is possible that you were not given high enough doses of the medications for them to become effective.

Either way, I'd work with a headache specialist to see what they can do to help.
