****Cold or Flu Can Lower Vitamin D3 Levels ****
Jan 24th, 2013 at 9:11am

Hey Clusterville!
Many of you know that i was CH free on "Batches" regimen for about 90 days however i got hit and hit hard the other day with 8 K-10's in a 24 hour period. The first four where back to back and put me in the ER. I wasn't at home so i was caught off guard and had no abortive's. I had been shadowing for around 4 days before i got hit and i should have upped my dosage then but i was just hoping they would go away.

I have been fighting a severe chest cold for over a month and it seems to have dropped my D3 levels below the pain free level. When you have a bad cold or flu there is evidence that shows your body uses alot of vitamin D3 to combat a viral infection. This seems to be the case with me. It is a good idea if this has happened to you to schedule a 25 ohd lab test to see where your actual D3 level is.

I upped my D3 dosage to 25,000iu daily from 15,000iu and took a 50,000iu loading dose and after two days i have gone back to CH free again. I wanted to share this info with everyone just in case this happens to you so you will know what to do to counter this phenomenon. This evidence is purely ANECDOTAL but If this has happened to anyone else then please post your experience......Best of luck to all and pf wishes.....Johnny Wink

t has not happened to me since I started D-3......of course I haven't had the flu since then either. But back when I'd be in high cycle, and using lithium as my prevent, if I caught the flu or even a nasty cold, the lithium would stop working!

I never tried to figutre out the why...whether the virus was defeating it.....just the barfs or the runs was keeping me from absorbing it...but man, a Kip 7 or higher...when you're already sick from a virus and somewhat beat down...just damn! Undecided

From what little I do know about D-3 and viral issues, it makes sense you'd wanna up the D-3 when you get knocked down with a virus. Damn glad to hear it was a short run with beasty and it sounds like you're back on top Johnny.

Yes thank God it was only 2 days but brought back the chronic memories in a big way! I could feel the D3 working as i upped the dosage and the beast went runnin! HA!  Grin
All is good now for 5 days strait and no shadows either and i am feeling back to me again.
This was most definitely a SHOCK and it took me a few days to get over the K-10's but am feeling much better now.... Johnny  Wink

Interesting... I just got over the worst flew / chest cold / fever ( even coughing up some brown stuff) in December when my CH returned after 10 years of remission.

Hey Guys!!
Yeah unfortunately the beast is still there just lurking behind the D3  and having a severe cold or flu can quickly drop D3 levels and reveal the beast. So without making this a warning just be cautious and look for the signs of shadowing when having the cold or flu and it would not be a bad idea to take a loading dose of 50,000iu and then talk to Batch about your situation or what i did was take the 50,000iu loading dose and then 25,000iu daily instead of 15,000iu for a week then back to my regular 15,000iu daily and got a 25 ohd lab test and it was a 95 ng/ml which was fine and no more CH's or shadows and have been CH free for about 130 days now besides the 2 days of getting hammered......Best of luck to all....Johnny Wink
