DAy 2 of D3 regime , Batch
Feb 11th, 2013 at 5:55pm

Already, no shadows. Starting regime again yesterday. Had bad day, lots of shadows, and two Kip 10s yesterday.
No shadows today, and no pain, at all. So far. Will keep you posted.

Hey Mama,

I'm with Joe.  I hope your husband's response to the anti-inflammatory regimen today is a good indication of more good things to come...

Now that you've see the potential benefits of the anti-inflammatory regimen with vitamin D3... given your medical condition, I suggest your see your PCP or cardiologist about the lab test for 25(OH)D...

If the results come back as I suspect, that you're vitamin D3 deficient or insufficient, i.e., less than 32 ng/mL speak to your doc about starting this same regimen tut suite.

Oh yes...  While you're at it, have your twin's pediatrician test them for 25(OH)D...  Growing youngsters that age need lots of vitamin D3 and calcium...  Work with your twins pediatrician and start them on the anti-inflammatory regimen at 5000 IU/day...  They need a 25(OH)D serum concentration > 50 ng/mL.

My wife has been on this regimen for two years taking 15,000 IU/day vitamin D3.  She feels great, looks great and has more energy than I've seen in 20 years...  Neither of us has had a cold or the flu in two years and she hasn't had a migraine over that same time frame.  She was a chronic migraineur prior to that...  She also kicked the heck out of 75 this last Christmas.  Go figure...

The only word of caution...  When both you and your husband take this regimen... fertility can and will to go up...  Accordingly, it's best to keep the anti-stork defenses active...

Take care, hang in there, and please keep us posted.

V/R, Batch

Hi and lol thanks for the advice. I have prevented myself from having any more, IF I did get pregnant, I would not live. So, yeah, tubed tied here. No shadows today, no headache last night, but KIP 10 about an hour after laying down for a nap today. Gave shot, and got relief. Hubby is going for a sleep study tonight. Dr suspects he also has sleep apnea b/c I have heard him stop breathing many times in the years we have been together. We will see how that goes. He is continuing the regime, so far they are preventing shadows, at least.  Wink

Successfully treating sleep apnea is one of the best things you can do to prep for battle with CH. It most likely won't help the CH, but it will put him in a better place for dealing with it during the day - well rested and truly refreshed.

Rather than starting a new thread I thought I'd just add to this one. I've exchanged some PMs with the always incredibly helpful Batch in the last week so he's aware that I too have started his vitamin regimen.

Started 2/15. Last night for the first time since the current cycle began 2 weeks ago was the first I wasn't awakened at 1 or 2 am with a Kip 8+. I woke up quite a few times, but the head was reasonably quiet. I'd hit the O2 tank using Batch's deep breathing techniques for about 10 minutes a couple of hours before going to bed when I felt some tremors.

I should add that I'd also started on topiramate exactly a week ago, half a 25 mg twice a day so far and due to begin doubling it today. So it's not exactly a controlled experiment. I'm wondering in fact if I should continue with the half dose.

Ok, that's it for now.

Obviosuly stay in touch with your doc about upping or reducing the topirate dosing....but I'd be damned tempted to stay at the current dose and after about 2 weeks ask the doc about tapering off of it. The D-3 is working like magic for many. Here's hoping it slays beasty for you.

Joe, I'd already taken a full 25 mg Tope pill before reading your post yesterday. Took the second at night but then this morning said what the hell and did only half. I'll keep up the half dosing for awhile while continuing Batch's Beneficent Brew and see what happens.

It's now been 2 PF nights and, as they say, counting. And last night I didn't even have an early evening attack of the sort I've generally warded off with O2!
