cafergot

Broke out my precious supply of cafergot.  I cant believe they stopped producing it.  It is the only med that always works for me.  I never get a side effect, and I only need a half a tab for a whole night sleep.  Best med ever.  Depressing that they stopped making it.  Maybe I can get some from another country or something? Huh

I think if you look up ercaf you'll find it is still around. I was on one or the other for years and I found it extremely addicting. Maybe it was helpful at first but certainly not after. blessings. lance

I never felt that it was addictive.  In fact my doctor has always been so stingy with it, due to the possiblilty of ergotism that she is very very careful about giving it to me.
Ill look into that other name.  thanks alot. Smiley

If getting it from a different source or another country be very, very careful with dosages and instructions because they may easily be confused and an overdose cannot be reccommended.

Any tingling or numbness in the extremities, unexplained sprained ankles and the like must be taken seriously.

Cheers,

B.

There's a variant called Migril in the UK, its a 2mg tablet so twice the dose of cafergot. I'm also quite a cafergot fan, never had any hassles with it but I am careful with the dosage.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

wow, thats a high dose,   i cut a cafergot in half, so im getting great relief from half a mg of ergotamine .  I was thinking of ordering from canada or something,  the website shows they have them in stock.  and CHEAP.  I didnt go to checkout though, so they may really be out of them.   this always happens to me,  I was on a anti seizure for yrs.  for my epilepsy, worked great,  then they stopped making it.  Its so annoying.  Maybe there is another drug with ergot in US,  for headache relief.   I dont know.   All I know is how well it works for me.   9 hrs of sleep and Im smiling all day. Grin

Cafergot is still available!  I am going through a series and have been for 4 weeks now! When They told Me I couldn't get My Cafergot , I almost cried! It turns out, It's readily available at almost any compounding pharmacy throughout the USA. They just make it up in cap form 1mg to 100 mg. of caffine. Ended up costing Me about 90 cents a pill, which was more than I was accustomed to paying, but still gladly paid the bill.
