Deja vu

Hi all, I am back. Went chronic 2 years ago after 30 episodic. After six unbearable months, you guys recommended the Chronic Cocktail including lithium and verapamil. This worked very well until a couple of months ago when attacks become more frequent leading to daily the last 2 weeks. I have increased lithium to 1500 seems to help but getting tremors.

Any suggestions? Also, is there a home oxygen machine that delivers 15LPM?

Have you tried the vitamin D3 regimen? I was episodic for 12 years, chronic for 8, and was having good success with the cluster buster methods until last March. Went on this regimen and have been pain free - totally pain free - since May, 2012.

I'll never go back to mainstream pharmaceuticals again.

I had a very similar experience to you Gator when, after a good while happily pf on the cocktail it slowly stopped working. It seems that the body slowly gets used to the drugs and they lose their effectiveness. I had to wean myself off them and stay drug free for 3 weeks. When I started on the meds again, just verapamil, it was back to its good old self. It was a horrible 3 weeks but well worth it.

I'd second Brews suggestion Gator, I've been pain free 3 years after 35 years of episodic. The D-3 is cheap, good for you even without CH, and with an 80% success rate it's the newest latest and greatest.

I agree with the others on the Vit D regimen.  It has not totally made me PF, but it has made a great difference for me!

If you will look on the left you will see "Oxygen Info" highlighted in yellow.  There is not a "machine" that will produce that high a flow of O2, and what machines there are don't produce more than 85-91% oxygen, which is not effective for CH.  They are designed for COPD or cancer issues.

Years ago I was put on the Chronic Cocktail and had to pull off of it due to side effects that I still suffer from 8 yrs later.  I weaned myself slowly and substituted Kudzu for equal or better results than I ever got with Verap and Lith, AND with no side effects.  Enter Kudzu in the search box at the top left of the screen and you will find several threads about it.  I recommend you look into it.

Last, but probably should be first, Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register;  You will have to detox completely, which will probably not be fun, but it has done wonders for 87% of those who have tried it.

Thanks guys! You deserve a lot of credit for keeping this site going by your unfailing presense for years and the knowledge you share with us all old and new.

I was already taking D-3 as part of the cocktail but only around 3000iu. I an going to up it to 10k and drop the lithium and verapamil for a while. Will let you know.

Do you think kudzu is worth adding?

I never tried the Kudzu so no help there. I do NOT use the kudzu with the D-3 and am still pain free after 3 years, for the what it's worth dept! Wink

Kudzu would be entirely your decision.  Do your homework first before trying it.  I don't believe there would be any problem with combining it with the D3 regimen, but I cannot say with certainty.  If mine get any worse I'm going to add it back in and see if it will work again.

The best source I found for it was Swansonvitamins.com   Superb service, and they will price match anyone.  I used Natures Way because it has a certified potency in each capsule, which with some others can be all over the place.

One other word of advice that is very important!  You are on rather high dosages of the cocktail.  DO NOT come off of it all at once!  You must taper yourself off a bit at the time.  Otherwise you may have reactions that will make CH seem pale.

Great to hear, Gator. (and being from miami I love the dolphins hat!)

You might also look into buying a tank of welder's 02. Tell them you're a metal sculptor if they ask. For about 300 bucks I got the whole kit, 80 cubic foot tank and the proper regulator, etc. Then I just go for a fillup at 23 bucks a pop whenever I need it.

Keep us posted.
