airline travel

I have two questions. I have just started a new cycle and will be traveling to Mexico next week. Does the cabin pressure on board an aircraft bring on an attack?

Question two. My wife, god bless her, heard of a new med for migraine sufferers called Zomig. Has anyone tried this? Results good or bad.

rather uneven reports about effect of flying.

See PDF file on Zomig (below).

Quite a few people have posted that it tends to result in a CH for them whilst some others report the opposite.

I've flown over 100 times whilst in cycle and I never had a single CH whilst flying (mainly short domestic hops but quite a few long haul flights too).

As always, just make sure you have been taking your preventives and have abortives with you. For domestic flights I still have injectable sumiptriptan (imitrex) with me even though out of cycle just incase I get a CH, then I've sumitriptan tablets / pain killers in case I get a migraine. For long haul I also get some Red Bull or similar in addition to my domestic flight supplies.

Hi Howard, flying has for me sometimes started cycles and has also brought on attacks when in a cycle. I make sure i always have my ZOMIG with me when flying and sometimes take one just before the flight. Zomig is not a new drug and is given to people who suffer from migraines. It works well for me every time, i get it in tablets of 2.5 mg (I think it is also possible to get it in injections form). The max dose is 5 mg/day and my doctor says that it should not be taken for more than 1 week at a time, however my spring cycle can last up to 3 months and i do take Zomig every night before i fall asleep (otherwise i wake up 1 hour after falling asleep and get a 10/10 CH). My doctor is quite alarmed at the fact that i take this much Zomig but she understand the pain of CH so she keeps prescribing them to me. There is very rare risk of heart attack as a side effect.
Nevertheless I have started Batch's Vitamin D3 regimen about 5 weeks ago and have been pain free for the last 2. It seems that the Vit D3 regimen has stopped the cycle in its tracks. It has been so far in my 12 years of CH the best thing i have taken and the most efficient. I would strongly recommend that you get on this regimen, it works for 80% of people who take it. It consists of supplements such as Vit D3, calcium, fish oil and a few more. Here is the link to the regimen

Batch is a very nice man, extremely well researched and always willing to help other CHers. He will answer any questions that you might have regarding the regimen if you PM him.

All the best   Smiley

Thank you. This looks like something worth trying.
