god help me
Jun 2nd, 2013 at 3:12pm

I started my cycle a few days ago. I haven't slept in two days, im having 4-6 attacks a day. Last night was the worst. I don't go to the doctor until tomorrow, and I have nothing to help me, so I just suffer through it. I may end up going to the ER tonight. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me get through them until I can get help? I feel like im going totally insane. The pain is too much to bear.

The only thing i can suggest you try for now, is to inhale
deeply through your nose for 15-20 min's. another thing you
can try is get some ice from your freezer wrap it in a hankie
and apply it to your temple, the top of your head and the
back of your lower neck.
Hoping you find some relief.

Hoppy.

An energy drink, when taken at the onset of an attack, can be helpful.  Slam it as soon as you feel it coming on.  I use energy shots.

My emergency aborts:

Sugar Free Red Bull, chugged at the first indication of an attack.

Hard, cardio exercise that pushes you to exhaustion, wind sprints, squat jumps etc.

Bury your face in the freezer or in front of a car AC vent and hyperventilate drawing the cold air through the nostril on the effected side.

Drive to the pharmacy now and get some Melatonin, pop about 12 mg 30 minutes before bedtime, many can avoid the night time, wake up hits with this.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER GET CAUGHT UNPREPARED.
EVER

I know it won't help you this go round but CH is a lifetime ailment. It ALWAYS  comes back. Never delude yourself into thinking it's your last cycle. ALWAYS  have a supply of whatever your prevent is, and whatever your abortive of choice is. It's essential you be your best advocate.

Wishing you some peace and pain free time soon.

Joe

I kinda of done what Guiseppi said in a way.  Would pace and do sort of workouts while getting as close to hyperventilation as possible.  Would be sore as hell the next day but if it took a away the hit a little faster its all worth it.

If you can get yourself together long enough to go out and get some energy drinks (taurine is a must) then that would be my suggestion. You could also start taking high dosages of vitamin D3 (you can read more about it on this forum), though that will probably take a few days at least to start seeing improvement.

A super hot shower has always been my go to and energy drinks have been working really great for me lately.  I prefer Monster Fruit Punch or a small Red Bull, but whatever you like hopefully will help but seriously monster fruit punch is awesome.
