Clock Management?
Jul 20th, 2013 at 12:39pm

Looks like I am back in cycle after a wonderful 18 month hiatus.  Not yet a terribly violent cycle, hopefully it will stay that way.   A question for those with long experience.

Have you ever tried to manage the timing of your attacks?  I am wondering.  I normally go to bed at 1100p and pretty much like clockwork I am getting hit at 1230a-100a; back to sleep, and another hit at 330a (times close, not exact).  After hit #2 I am generally good for the duration.  Do we think our attacks are tied to specific times -- or to the amount of time we have slept?  If it is the latter, I could go to bed earlier, get the hits out of the way by 2am or so, and have a good 6 hours left to sleep.  I might be able to live with that!

Hi Traveller,
Sorry to read you are in cycle after 18 months pain free.

Everybody is certainly unique, but my personal research is that I get my 1st night time visit fro the dragon about 45 minutes to an hour after I fall asleep.  I believe it has something to do with REM.

Try a search on previous threads/archives for more info as this has been discussed before.

Pain free wishes to you! Wink

Hi Traveller,
I was lucky with my attacks, that is if you can call it lucky.
Mine always came around 11am & 2pm with an odd one or
two coming at 2am during a 3mth cycle.

Hoppy.

Traveller, sorry to hear the Beast is back, but if you try going to sleep earlier or later, you will likely get your answer in short order. My hope would be they go away immediately and you never find out, but I'm not quite that optimistic. Best answer I can give is try it and see. Please let us know what happens.

Traveller, I am sorry to hear that the Beast has returned. I hope that he leaves as quickly as he came. My husband tried altering his sleep cycle a few years ago, as his hits use to come at specific times. His outcome was not good, hits were worse and more often. From our knowledge the hits are not tied to "time" as they are tied more to your REM cycle and usually occur 45min-1hr after sleep has been reached. It is always worth trying, as everyone is different.
Here's hoping for Pain free time again,
Conway
