Four days pain free.WOW.
Aug 29th, 2013 at 6:20pm

I have been getting headaches for the whole year. The start of this month I started getting them everyday. Sometimes up to 5 a day. With no insurance I was going crazy.I quit a job with insurance because the headaches were coming the same time everyday while I was at work.I barely made it threw my second job.I started taking 10,000 mg of D3,2,000 mg of fish oil 1,200 mg of calcium citrate everyday since Monday and I haven't had a headache since.I still feel sluggish from time to time and I still feel it building up sometimes, but it never comes and the pain is so low I can function again.Thank you EVERYONE who posted about this routine to make me try it.THANK YOU. Smiley

Congrats from a fellow sufferer! 'Tis a wonderful thing..to even have one day pain free! I have been PF since spring 2012 after going on the D3 regimen but it has reared it's ugly head a few weeks ago. However I upped my D3 to 10,000 once again and they seem to be very disorganized this time..giving me PF days here and there and most of my hits are mild.  You might want to add 400 Magnesium Citrate to the mix too. If it causes loose bowels you may need to back off some on the dose! lol

I know what you mean about the 'fog' that seems to be there. Some days I can barely put one foot in front of the other and please don't ask me to process too much at one time. I figure i can deal with it as long as I'm not being hit every few hours!

Keep us posted on how the regimen works for you and enjoy those PF days!

Hey Jrdn,

Thanks for the feedback on your experience with the anti-inflammatory regimen with 10,000 IU/day vitamin D3.

It's a wonderful feeling being free of the beast as I'm sure you'll agree.  Should the beast return over the next few days, double your daily vitamin D3 intake for a couple weeks.  This will help you build 25(OH)D reserves a little faster and that should keep the beast away.

This regimen isn't a cure so you'll need to stay on it... and I'd suggest the year round...  That way when the next cluster cycle comes... it will be a non-event.  Your serum concentration of 25(OH)D will be high enough to prevent any cluster headaches and you'll sail pain free through the regularly scheduled attacks.

We've also learned that our immune systems will compete for available 25(OH)D.   Accordingly, it's a good idea to see your PCP for the lab test for 25(OH)D after a month or two pain free.  That way you'll know how much 25(OH)D reserves it takes to stay pain free.

If you come down with a cold, double your daily vitamin D3 intake until the cold symptoms have completely disappeared.  That will give you the best chance of remaining pain free.

Take care, thanks again for the feedback and please keep us posted.

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there

Jrdn,

Crap happens...  Sorry about that...  We've seen this pattern before...  No biggie...  You're heading in the right direction.

Per my previous post, double the daily dose for a couple weeks and add a 50,000 IU loading dose once a week for the two weeks.

That should get you back to that wonderful feeling... tout suite.

Take care and hang in there.

I doubled my dose after reading your post.I had a real bad attack on memorial day right before I lit the grill up.It lasted about 45 minutes and was really painful behind my eye.I got another attack around 3 yesterday and around 10pm at work. Both were short, but the one at work was kinda painful.I take the pills everyday and there is no doubt there is a big difference. Is there any other natural things I could do?

Hi,
Try chugging a red bull at the onset of pain. Some thing to do with the combination of caffeine and taurine. It works for many.

Ok I FINALLY SEEN A DOCTOR AND HE PRESCRIBED ME TREGATOL & PREDNISONE.THE MEDICINE DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.SINCE MY LAST POST I HAVE BEEN SMOKING WEED AND TAKING THE VITAMIN D + FISH OIL AND AND IT HAS  HELPED IN A MAJOR WAY.I STILL GET HEADACHES ALMOST EVERYDAY JUST NOT AS BAD MAYBE A 4 OR 5 ON THE PAIN SCALE.COUPLE TIMES A WEEK I GET THAT CRAZY PAIN AND IT RUINS MY DAY.

THE DAY BEFORE I SEEN THE DOC I STOPPED SMOKING WEED AND STOPPED TAKING THE REGIMENT AND I NOTICED THE PAIN IS CREEPING BACK MORE OFTEN QUICKLY.

I REALLY THINK I SHOULD STOP TAKING THE MEDICINE CAUSE THE BOTTLE WARNS ME AGAINST DIRECT SUNLIGHT. HuhI ONLY TAKE THE MEDICINE SO THE DOCTOR CAN SEE IM TRYING AND SEE IT DOESN'T WORK AND MAYBE WE CAN COME UP WITH SOMETHING ELSE FOR THE PAIN.

hi jrdn,
Have you tried Imigran. It comes in iether nasal spray, pill form 50mg or injections, it has a good record in treating
both migrains and CH's.

Hoppy.
