Doctor took my cluster away
Sep 13th, 2013 at 11:13am

Dear all, I have been suffering from cluster headaches for 10 years now. Since the first year I got it there has been no treatment except oxygen and verap. I started my cluster period 4 weeks ago. Someone highly recommended German a heart surgeon that later on specialized in acupuncture. I have always been very skeptical about this kind of treatments but at the end I visited him, had nothing to loose. Just want to tell you that the exact day after seeing him my cluster disappeared. It only lasted 1 week instead of the usual 5 weeks, first time in my life. He knew exactly what cluster was about, not any of the 10 doctors I had seen prior to him had explained to me with such clarity what cluster was and how to treat it. I strongly suggest to try this type of alterntives. If someone wants the doctors information please let me know, I will gladly share it with you. He is based in Mexico City.

I'm delighted that your pain free. Its what we're all working towards. I'd strongly caution you against getting complacent a d thinking your ch is gone. It is the beasts nature to Morph and one of the diagnostic traits of ch is while you may go into remission they never really go away. There have been numerous surgical interventions attempted by members on this site and the results have been mostly poor. I'd be interested in hearing the details of the surgery.

Wishing you peace and pain free time!

Joe

Yeah Dorko that's what I was getting at, coincidence vs, causation. With the beast it can be very confusing. I "Cured" my CH by discontinuing using Q-tips......3 months later they came back...I "Cured" my CH by giving up coffee......3 months later they were back. It's way down the line when you look back and see the pattern of your CH, and realize the CH followed the same pattern no matter what my life style changes were!

I am in no way discouraging anyone trying ANYTHING to beat the beast. It's how we discovered Oxygen, Energy Drinks, Mushrooms, etc. Hoping your pain free time lasts a lifetime!

As Guiseppi said, "morph".  Sometimes the morph affect is great, sometimes it's bad, but it always comes back.
