Looking for an OUCH business card....
Sep 18th, 2013 at 9:56pm

At the recent CB conference, somebody asked us if we had a copy of an old OUCH card. This card was something a sufferer could carry in their wallet to show someone witnessing a CH that would briefly explain the issue and ensure the witness they were not dying.

If anyone has a coy can you PM me so we can arrange to have you scan or fax a copy to me? Thanks!

I had one of the original membership cards but there wasn't any such information on the one I had.

I do remember a small card of some sort though or maybe it was a download somewhere.  I've been looking but can't locate it.  Maybe Linda H or Elaine would remember it.

Yeah Jackie I had one, it's business card size so it fit into your wallet. Basically was something you could hand to a well intentioned person when you were in the throes of a snot slinging, head banging 10 in public. For the life of me I can't find it. Hoping someone still has one for a project being undertaken....anyone???

Cat told me she has the original digital images in her files.  Waiting for her to find them.

Thanks for looking, Joe and Christy!

Kim Robbins wants to recreate them for our use.  I know there was some sort of problem with the first one, and OUCH quit producing them, but I don't remember what the issue was.  Would love to have something.  It would be nice to have something for our people who have to visit the ER

Also: (This is pretty dated and the part about narcotic medications is probably not what you want to present.)

Emergency Treatment Request and Information:

Below, is information to assist you in treating my patient:

__________________________________________________________________________
for this severe Cluster Headache episode. As you know, Cluster Headache Disorder is a recurrent, episodic neurological disorder. Some episodes can require treatment beyond the medications the patient currently has at home. This patient is neither a substance abuser nor a "drug seeker," but may need narcotic medications to treat this episode.

Patient Information:                             Date of diagnosis: __________________

Current migraine preventive medication(s): ______________________________________

__________________________________________________________________________

Current migraine abortive and/or pain medication(s): ______________________________

__________________________________________________________________________

Suggested medications for this patient in an emergency situation:

__________________________________________________________________________
         __________________________________________________________________________

Thank you for treating my patient. It is often very difficult for Cluster Headache patients to receive adequate care offered with dignity and respect because of others who go to emergency departments and after-hours care facilities, feigning symptoms to obtain narcotics. I assure you such is not the case with this patient.

Steve that last one to be signed by the doc is good IF the doctor will sign it (mine would but wonder if others would).

AND if the ER doc would READ it. But we all should have something like this in case of emergency. Sometimes we're just not "rational" enough to explain to a dumb ER doctor who thinks he's GOD!

I think this is a great idea.  Kiss

Christy, The one you're thinking about is, indeed a small business card size to give to someone during an attack while in public explaining briefly what is going on and that you are NOT drunk or on drugs, that you have taken your medication and this will pass, etc.

Untill recently I had several of them, but got rid of them when I was simplifying my file cabinet.  They were done by OUCH UK.  Simon, I believe had them printed up.  Maybe go to their site to find it?   Embarrassed
