sneezing or leaning over
Jan 12th, 2014 at 3:18pm

Sure sounds like I have cluster headaches. Mine are right side headaches. Leaning over, like getting on all 4's to look under the truck, hurts & gets the bsll rolling!  Sneezing hurts as well. I was diagnosed with "cough headaches", but that doesn't fit like CH does. I rarely don't have some kind of discomfort in the top right, or temple, or behind the eye.

Any of this sound familiar?

Thx

Doesn't fit my symptoms but then one of the annoying traits of CH is how much it can vary from person to person.

Would suggest you take the following quiz:

Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Record your answers and try to get a referral to a headache specialist neurologist. The fact that bending over or coughing causes a headache would be worrisome enough to me to want to have a really thorough check done on my noggin, just to assure myself none of those low percentage "scary" things were going on in there. If it's not CH, they can get you diagnosed and pain free. If it is CH, the sooner you get to a headache specialist neurologist, the better. CH is a lifetime problem which requires a disciplined, organized approach supervised by a doc that knows headaches! Let us know what area of the world you're in maybe someone can refer you to a knowledgeable doc near you.

Took the test.  Yup, thats me!

Been to a # of Doctors. Scanned my head every way possible, even after intravenious, all normal, ntf.

Was given Indomethacin. Really strong, "old" version of that line of drug. Kinda works, i.e. sometimes.

Hi all,

I appreciate the wealth of information on the site.  I have implemented a single daily Melatonin + D3 regiment, started Sunday, Jan 12.  So far, yesterday, Wed & today, Thurs, no headache!  Great stuff, "BUT", as I am learning, the CH condition is cyclic, i.e. on & off, so it's hard to tell if this is an ongoing condition, or for how long.  I'd appreciate any comments based on your experience.

Yesterday, I was in "the fog" all day, kinda like I had a slight "buzz" going.  I've felt that before.  Is this condition something y'all are seeing/feeling?

Edit:  After discovering a friend that is also a CH, he said dehydration is an issue, so I'm drinking lots of water.  So 3 changes total.

Thx all,

Forrest

Hi Forrest,
CH's are a life time condition, some of us eposodic others
chronic. And, their are other headaches that mimic CH's.So
it's always wise, to check in with a headache specialist to
see where you fit.

Hoppy.

Thx Hoppy.  Yea, been there, done that, got all the scans, chest up.  Even injections.  Diagnosed "Cough Headache", he didn't know where to fit me.

Have a seminar to attend next week with a Dr.  Should be interesting.

What is a "Cough Headache".

Cough headaches are an unusual type of headache triggered by coughing and other types of straining — such as from sneezing, blowing your nose, laughing, crying, singing, bending over or having a bowel movement.

Doctors divide cough headaches into two categories. Primary cough headaches are usually harmless, occur in limited episodes and eventually improve on their own. Secondary cough headaches are more serious, as they can be caused by problems within the brain. Treatment of secondary cough headaches may require surgery.

Doesn't sound like a CH to me. Constant pain sounds like something else. CH's come and go, though when in the constant cycle I would feel sensitive on the pain side.  I hope whatever you have that you find relief.
