DESPERATELY NEED NEURO IN BIRMINGHAM, AL
Jan 26th, 2014 at 12:06pm

Greetings all. Been a long time since I've been here.

In short, I need a KNOWLEDGEABLE neuro in Birmingham, AL.
I've checked OUCH.org's list, and Dr. Ford (who was my neuro) retired at the end of 2012; and Dr. Rothrock is not listed at UAB anymore. Not sure if he retired or went elsewhere, but neither is an option.

So if ANYBODY knows a COMPETENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, UNDERSTANDING neuro who has ACTUALLY TREATED folks with chronic CH (transitioned from episodic to chronic a few years ago).

That's all I'm going to write for now, I just want to keep this post/list to finding a good neuro in the Brimngham, AL area. Current doesn't seem to have any of the above-listed qualities

Hi Neal,
After emailing every CH'er listed in the USA and Non-USA "where we live" sections, I have compiled the most extensive updated lists/info of recommended doctors from those who suffer from CH's.

As for those residing in Alabama, Dr. Todd Pearlson at Southern Health Associates Inc., is the most recommended qualified doctor treating CH patients in Alabama.

Although it is a 2+ hour drive from Birmingham, he may be worth inquiring.

Hope this helps you... Wink

The current list is hosted here: Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

While it won't help you in your search, I have modified the list to reflect your findings. It appears that Rothrock is now practicing in Reno, NV...not exactly driving distance for you. Please, if you find a Birmingham doc let me know and I will add him/her to the list.

Bill

Thanks LV & Racer.

LVI: I'll look up Pearson, but the distance is a factor if he is indeed ~ 2 hours away.

Racer: I will definitely let you know if I find a GOOD neuro for CH.

Thanks again, guys, I appreciate it!

Hi Neal,
Unfortunately there just aren't many recommended doctors familiar with CH's in Alabama.  Dr. Pearlson is in Troy, which is a little over 2 hours away from Birmingham.

Also about 2 hours away from Birmingham is Atlanta GA which has several doctors who have recently been recommended from other CH sufferers.  i.e. Macon, Lawrenceville, Marietta.

PM me if you are willing to make the drive and will get you some names of recommended Atlanta metropolitan area doctors who are familiar with CH treatment.
