Imitrex Use question
Feb 3rd, 2014 at 12:08pm

Hello everyone,
I am hopefully on the tail end of a three week battle with the beast. Luckily this time I have been able to use the 6mg Imitrex STATdose system. I followed the manual dosing stuff that was posted on this site and it has worked wonders. My attacks have been a little different this time around. The first week was on schedule every night, the next was two to three in a row, and then skip a night. In this last week, they have been hit or miss. I have been using 3mg of Imitrex during this last week, think a total of 5 times so far. While I know the max dose is 12mg in a 24 hour period; am I using the Imitrex for too long of a time?

Unless you have a history of heart problems you're dosing should be O.K.

Are you using a preventive? If not, one should be in your treatment plan. See PDF file, below.

Agree with Bob, and even if you are episodic, O2 as a frontline abortive should be an arrow in your quiver. blessings. lance
