finally a place where the people fully understand just how intense and horrific the pain of these cluster headaches can be.

ive suffered with these for some 15 years now, at first they were just really strong intense headaches focused behind and just above my left eye, I would get this at the same time each day for about a week and then nothing for a week or 2 until they came back, this would go on for a few months and then they just disappeared.

about 18months later they came right back and followed the same sort of pattern but the pain seemed a little more intense, my eye would leak slightly and I hated any light but it was bearable, these lasted anywhere from between half hour to a couple of hours.

for years they followed the same routine like clockwise with there returns but the times of day they hit were never really the same and the pain was always a little worse, finally about 5 years ago after much research I diagnosed myself and then faced a Dr, to my surprise he backed me and prescribed the relevant drugs, the headaches stopped within a couple of weeks.

Im now 38 years old and going through the cycle of having these demonic attacks yet again, the drugs as used before aren't as effective and the pain of each attack is even worse than ever before, at this stage in my life and I wake up in the early hours of the morning and have to cry with the sheer intensity of the pain.

I hope finding this page, this new home of brothers and sisters in arms will be a help to me and to others that have to endure these!

This is pretty much exactly my life story with the only difference being I've suffered about 5 more years.  Welcome home!  Too bad you didn't find us sooner. 

I too am coming through a vicious cycle.  If it makes you feel any better, I have recently read quite a few threads here, on facebook, and on clusterbusters where others are reporting really bad cycles and really good abortives being much less effective than in other cycles.  I seriously think it was the polar vortex or whatever phenomenon that caused it.  It made me feel better knowing I wasn't the only one struggling.
