Going in for DHE
Apr 8th, 2014 at 1:05pm

I've reached critical level. 4 weeks of non-ending pain, attacks aren't even attacks, they're just constant pain, this time I have neck pain/stiffness from the evening to morning with it. it's like one long attack. Did pred taper, 200 mg Topo (not that high, of course, but can't wait to get up to 400mg), did double nerve block. Doc called and wanted me to go in right away to do "an infusion" but work is in the way, and I had to delay until Thursday (as much as it's near impossible to work right now). going in day after tomorrow. For now, I'm staying doped up, caffeined up, and not sleeping.

Mike, I've had a DHE infusion and it worked, for about three months. The relief was very welcome. I pray you will find similar, or better, relief. Please let us know. It seems there are still some of us intractable chronics around, and while I rejoice in the good news several of our fellow CHers are experiencing, I grieve for the pain we still endure. Let us know how you are doing. God bless. lance

I give myself DHE-45 shots at home daily. I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere to get it (that would suck!). For me, the relief it brings never lasts more than 24-48 hours at most.

Good Luck !

Thanks, by Saturday, HA down to a 1. On 160 Verapamil, working up to 320 by next week, plus on 200 Topo. Should be ok. Need to get my O2 uptake better through exercise and some weight loss, as I know that doesn't help me either. I also don't sleep well. My BP was high during the stay at the HA center from not sleeping for 30 days. I had my first 6 straight hours on Friday night, and again Saturday night in over a month. If I get back on a cycle (for lack of a better term) I can get a normal exercise regimen down, lose some weight, eat better, and keep on my meds and hopefully get through this phase.

The verapamil should help bring down the blood pressure.
Glad to hear you're doing so much better. Keep us posted on how long and well it works for you.

Thanks, my BP was only high from a lack of sleep for 30 days. On the day I got the 2nd dose, I had been working on 3 days of 2 hours/night of sleep, with a 20 minutes sleep, up for 20 minutes at a time. The funny part was, as soon as I finally dozed off for 30 minutes, my BP went from 160/120 to 118/75. Since I have spent so many years running (thanks to CH), my BP is very good, without medication. I'm back to a KIP 1 or 2, generally right now, but better than the 6 or 7 I was experiencing prior to treatment. Keep in mind, I only got 1 1/2 treatments, instead of the full 3.
