Where were you? - Inopportune CH

So, where have you had a CH strike where it was the most inopportune time?

I had one strike as I was leaving work after a very long day - had to stay in the parking lot an extra 45 mins. (I realize this isn't the worst place I could have gotten it, but that's my experience)

My 34 years of CH experience has taught me it's NEVER an opportune time! Wink

Correct me if i'm mistaken, but I think what you're inquiring is where is the worst place/timing you've been attacked, right?

If so, I will limit my answer to my Top Three "inopportune" attacks....

1. while making an acceptance award speech at my Fortune 500 company's Christmas party in front of 300 fellow employees/spouses

2. at the beginning of a 5 hour flight/airplane

3. during my son's elementary school parent teacher conference with teachers and school principal at small table

Armed escort of a very, very dangerous prisoner - kip 8.

2am, camouflaged, highly armed expecting trouble - kip 8.

First hit of an unexpected cycle I stepped PF onto the pedestrian crossing, kip 4 on the median strip, kip 9 on reaching the footpath, pub, and free Christmas beer.

That was inopportune.

Had been queueing for 20 min at the post office to have my photo taken for an identification card and 30 sec before being called I got a kip 6. I now have a permanent record of how I look trying to pretend I'm not in agony.

O'Hare Airport after about 60 flights had been cancelled. I was in a wheelchair with a cane.. Not good..

But the good news is .. it's been enough years ago that I can probably go back there by now..  Smiley

Two worst that come to mind:

1.  In Walmart, where I found they moved the candle display for Christmas.  Walked around the corner and smelled them.  Dropped to my knees with an instant 10, and that was before I had any abortives.  The wife had to try to get me out of a crowded store with Christmas shoppers clogging all the aisles.

2.  In our church's lobby just before the start of a wedding.  Absolutely packed house, and I got perfumed.  had to have two ushers help me down the hall before i could find an empty room to recover in.  Totally missed the wedding, and didn't try the reception either.  Very good friends, but they understood.

At the theatre with Crystal, watching Peter Pan for her birthday.  Had a kip 10 right in the middle.  By the time I got to my car I was losing it.  I told my daughter to get in the car and not get out - I didn't want her to see me go insane.  Instead I threw up and fainted...I woke up to her screaming for help and guards running over...I tried to calm her down, but she wouldn't have it.  Poor thing.  Too long a story, but I tell you, let anyone or anything be in her path if I get hit and I ask her to get me my headache med...I feel sorry for you.

Of course, those were the days before I knew of this place.

Last year on stage (musician). Got hit about the third song in. Had my meds but waited until the song was over. By then it was to late and I got hit with a 9. It's tough having to play and sing and be cool all the while in complete agony. Set went on for an hour. Not fun.
