Where's the current best deal for demand valve?
Jul 5th, 2014 at 2:50am

Howdydoo message board members HEADBANGERS,

A new pal who goes by "brs82 " over at clusterbusters is a chronic CH'er for whom 25 LPM has ceased being effective.

I'm suggesting a demand valve system -  if that route is chosen, who knows where to purchase and get the best bang for the bux?

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Skyhawk posted this one a while back...no personal experience with the company....

IF a higher flow is all that is desired there are other, cheaper options available....

Hey Bejeeber,

I have one of these demand valves and they work well. They don't come with a mask, but those are available on that site.

Hope to see you at the CB Conference.

Don

I created an auto search on ebay until it found one for me, got it for $125 (vs over $300 for new). You can also search for oxygen-specific scuba diving regulators, but the connections are trickier, and they're mouth-only.

A welding regulator will provide as little or as much O2 flow as needed.
Welding regulators fit large medical oxygen tanks. An adapter is needed to attach a welding regulator to a small tank.

Sorry, I missed that....

Have you checked with OUCH UK? They were a start up after the original OUCH here. (Many years ago, I frequented the site, but they didn't seem to appreciate my approach to things)

Best of luck!

Hey Tangerinearmy,

The best oxygen demand valve made comes from right there in the UK.  The OEM was... and possibly still is Carnét, but the product line is now available from BPR at the following link.

I did a hands-on assessment and evaluation of all the top oxygen demand valves...  The Carnét was the winner by a long shot.  I've had one since 2008... They work far better than any other brand.

These are pricey items, but well worth the expense if you want the top of the line oxygen delivery system to abort CH with the least amount of inhalation resistance.

See the following link for all the options.  If you want to go this route, ask the reps at BPR for the complete system.

Take care,
