Whatever we Resist, Persists
Jul 22nd, 2014 at 3:31am

If we can understand how the Universe works, we can use it to our advantage as we are meant to.
One of the unbending laws of the Universe, is;
"Whatever we Resist, Persists."
Whenever we have pain, for example, the natural reaction is to resist. The natural law will follow and it will persist. So, how to fix it?
The best results come from not resisting, but allowing. I know, it sounds scary at first, but trust me on this one.
At some time (and even when you don't have CH), you could say something like the following either out loud or in your mind.
Imagine your cluster headache and say "I recognise this feeling and pain as a cluster headache and I allow it".
To explain it further, it is a bit like if you are having an argument with someone and then you agree with them - the argument stops, they have nothing more to argue about.
I use this on many things, and have great success with it. You don't have to believe it will work - it doesn't matter what you believe, it is law, so it cannot do otherwise.

Can you please tell me the name of this law as I'm totally unfamiliar with it?

I'm thinking of something like Kepler's laws of planetary motion (Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register) or Einstein's general relativity (Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register).

It is not one of scientists - but one of a spiritual nature, yet can be tested by science.

So if we say "OK bring it on, come and get me, I'm letting you in",  even if we don't believe it, this law will make the pain go away. This is what you state must and will happen. Can you please answer Mike's question and tell us the name of this law.

I'm sorry Ken, I don't mean to be rude but this is a load of rubbish. Our pain is PHYSICAL. It's a defective hypothalmus and no amount of spiritualism, prayers, wishful thinking or tree hugging will make it go away.

You clearly have never experienced pain like we have so believe me it's difficult to even form coherant thoughts let alone allow the damn thing. The pain is so all consuming I can barely even think of my own name.

But because I'm open minded and desperate enough to try anything once, next time I have a chain saw tearing through my face I'll give it a go, before I turn to my meds.

If this cannot fail as you say, we should all be pain free by tomorrow.

Allow the pain. This from someone who admittedly does not have CHs. You gonna let someone punch you in the eye repeatedly, and stab it with an ice pick every time your heart beats, just so you can overcome the pain? You are diminishing our experience with a triviality. Arguing with someone is not the same thing as arguing with a cluster attack. That's more like arguing with a truck, giving in, and being splatted all over the road. Physics, you know. lance

If it can be tested by science tell me what experiment has been performed?

Has the research been published in a peer reviewed scientific journal?

Quote:
"I recognise this feeling and pain as a cluster headache and I allow it"

I know all too well the pain of a CH and yet I can never "allow it". This pain has been described as the most painful experience known to man. I have done everything I possibly can to prevent the pain from happening (via preventives) and to have effective ways to abort a CH (oxygen and imitrex) if I get one.

There is no way I can just let myself be mentally and physically abused by untreated CH whilst knowing that I have methods that work and retain my sanity or possibly even my life.

I think a much better place for peacefromken's post would be Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register.

Maybe one of the Moderators could move it there?

Hi
Thank you for at least being open minded enough to try it, even if you don't believe it, and that is OK.
This is not about whether one has suffered CH pain to understand that the problem needs to be solved for those that do. I have had a 3.5cm (1-3/8") brain tumour with pain so bad where I wished someone would cut my head off, and I stopped the pain and cured it myself. I have had a kidney stone for six weeks which they say is worse than childbirth. (I had no knowledge at that time how to stop it or cure it).
All physical problems are the result of dis-ease, (not disease) where the body is reacting to our thoughts over a period of time - the same as you can feel "sick in the stomach" from stress, or bad news, or heartbreak thoughts. Thoughts are all powerful.
Try it when you don't have CH (as I said by imagining ing it) and then say my words "I recognise this feeling and pain as a cluster headache and I allow it". Then also do it when you feel a CH coming on.
Keep in mind all things need practice.

That's a good question, as it shows this needs more explanation. The Universes and more are are guided by laws, that we have been given. Some are known and some are not yet understood or known. "Whatever we resist, Persists" may be one of them, but there are many more.
This statement of "Whatever we resist, Persists", is a gift it it is understood.
Taking your example seriously for the moment, when I didn't know better, I had my gall bladder removed. This later caused me to have diarrhoea type symptoms if I ate fatty  etc. foods. At the time I used the words "Even though I get diarrhoea form eating some foods or drinks, I deeply and completely accept myself". I did this for a few weeks (practice) and now have no problem. Before I am asked, I did not know  "Whatever we resist, Persists" which may have worked just as well.
I realise these are new to some and new is different, which is not easy to accept sometimes, and that too is OK.

Well Ken, you've started three different threads on these boards, told us all about your self cured illnesses - none of which are relevant to CH, which is the one illness you haven't had.

You've said CH is caused by the food we eat, and our own thoughts. And the cure is lemons, stabablised oxygen, spiritualism , allowing it to happen and the power of thought. Seems thought is both the cause and the cure then?

You clearly can't or wont answer simple questions, ie: the name of this spritual law which just cannot fail, and the science/experiment which tests and proves your theory. You could say you persist to resist.
      Smiley

Well I  didn't have much chance to practice as I have just gone into cycle and had five fairly bad CH's one after the other last night. I tried to think it away and guess what, it went. That could have been something to do with the whole tank of 02 that I used up though.

Leave it now Ken. Continue to cure yourself (you should live for ever) but you have no idea what you're talking about with CH and you are not helping us by taking up valuable board space.

Dear Kenny , basically telling people to "walk it off" is not (in my opinion) addressing the spiritual side. Been there , done that , and I'M sure that others on this board have tried that as well. Many people have prayed for me and it's the only reason I'm still alive ,sometimes you don't get exactly what you ask for but you get what you need. With all due respect go pound sand.

I read this with some interest. Did You write this as a way of "Curing or eliminating Cluster Headaches"? I spent the first 10 or 12 years convinced I would find a way to end them.
I am a perfect example of how the "placebo effect" works. I had a positive attitude to the point where I believed every new medication or way of eating that I tried would work. I would often see positive results quickly, one less attack, a day without attacks, less pain during an attack etc. I didn't get discouraged easily. After 10 -12 years of this, I needed to rethink my enthusiasm for a cure. I decided to change my mindset to think about how I could be the most productive, happy, realizing this was just part of who I am, yet still not give up hope for an end to this. It was just a change of attitude. It gave me a needed break from always staying happy by thinking, "This will end" I wish I rethought this a little sooner.
I thought You were talking about attitude. Now I'm not so sure. Accepting CH pain, certainly helps dealing with it. My wife and I learned self hypnosis (what I consider a way of relaxing and/or distracting the mind and body to make it easier to deal with pain). She used it for Childbirth. We have a large family, my wife always had natural childbirth. Self hypnosis worked well. At the Diamond HA Clinic, I learned Bio-feedback, which for me seemed almost identical to self-hypnosis. However there was actual "feedback" from bio-feedback via a computer screen showing a line climbing up, making a rounded hump, then going down, like a bowel. The idea was when You got relaxed You could see the line going flatter/straighter. I can't kick in bio-feedback or self hypnosis when the pain level gets past a 7. When it gets below a 7 it is very helpful.
What I am trying to say is, by accepting that we have this  uses far less of our energy. Enduring pain takes energy. So the idea of a good attitude is important. If accepting the pain were a cure, I would have been over this a decade ago.

Hi Clusterme,
Have you looked into the Vitamin D3 Regime, you can find
all the info on here. It has a 60% chance of becoming pain
free, like myself after suffering CHs for 43yrs.
