What did work...decided to retire.
Aug 12th, 2014 at 11:47am

Hello, so I had this thing beat for a spell with 100 MG of Tropiramate (Tompamax) & 120 MG of Verapamil for the past four months or so.  Its started off slow but now I am back to my full on everyday old routine of this lovely gift we all share.  My doctor is very helpful and eager to learn but I am her first patient with this affliction.  I am hoping to gain as much knowledge as I can before our next visit pertaining to where I should be looking to get a grasp on this thing.  I have had all the scans and blood test done years ago when I was seeing a neurologist.  It may have been my personal experience with that individual but I did not find many rewards working with her.  Now I am looking for a new, "cocktail" that will take the place of the one that worked perfectly for months....  Any suggestions?  Or ideas of any kind at all would be greatly appreciated.

-Thank You...Dax

It is pretty common with CH for what works to stop working.

What I would do however is to find a neuro with experience and skill in treating CH as otherwise you're likely to experience a whole lot of pain via CH as your neuro learns by practicing (experimenting) on you.

I think trying the D3 regime is really worth trying - safe, low cost and DIY. If it works, your body needed it for other reasons anyway.

Also, have you tried O2 as recommended here?:

When dh is at home it really helps him to abort the attacks. Not a cure but truly a lifesaver to stop the pain when he's at home.

D3 is working for so many of us. Give it a try..

And the Topamax.. that's a low dose.. I was on 300mg for years and it did help (but I took the whole dose at night to stop the side effects). Too much can cause depression, but the right dose can help.

But the D3 has been my lifesaver.. Have been PF since Oct 21st after so many years of being chronic (since 97). I urge you to try that.  Kiss
