BAAAAD Day today!!!!
Oct 14th, 2014 at 3:05pm

Ugh, Good Afternoon, fellow CH friends.

I hope everyone is having a good day today.  I wanted to get on here and rant a little bit because I am currently in a cycle and it's almost unbearable.  Nothing has helped, of course, and I can't take any more time off work because between my son getting sick and my daughter and her issues, I can't focus anything on myself.  I'm so sorry to get on here just to rant about that, but the headache is really bothering me today, I could barely even make it to work this morning and even when I did, I had to sit in my car for the longest time...why is it that no one understands exactly what you're going through?  I tell my boss I am a little off today because I'm in the middle of a cycle and I'm not sure when it's going to end or anything like that, all I know is it's extremely painful and you know what she tells me???  She says "Well, why can't you grab a Tylenol and make it feel better?"  I was like "REALLY????"  See, this is why people get let go from their jobs when they have a serious medical condition and no one understands it.  She's over here talking about "Well, maybe you need to cut down on your caffeine, or drink more water, or take a Tylenol and that will make it feel better, that's what works for ME!!"  I was like "Yeah, but you don't have a condition like I do..." You say CLUSTER HEADACHE, and they think you're talking about a little freaking migraine that will just go away if you're a good girl and play nice with the other coworkers....

Again, I am SO sorry, CH friends, I don't mean to be so fussy, I am hurting really bad and the residual headache today is almost as bad as the actual cluster when it hits, I am getting NO relief right now!!  UGH....

BTW, HUGS to everybody, I really hope you all are having a good day today, no one deserves to be in pain like this!  I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy in the world....anyway, thank you, CH friends for the support and letting me rant a little bit...HUGS to everyone!

Cluster headache is the most rediculous name for this condition. Don't tell them you have a cluster headache and tylenol won't work. Tell them suffer from trigeminal autonomic cephalgia, and the required treatment is a subcutaneously administered vasoconstrictor , or hyperventilation with pure 02 via a non-rebreather mask. Blind 'em with science. That'll  shut 'em up. Grin

IF you employer shows any interest in deeper understanding, ask them/her if she would be interested in some basic medical information. Get back if, "yes".
====

How are you being treated for your Clusters? Seeing a doc with experience/skill? If not sure, ask about their background treating complex headache disorders.

Far too many docs, including neurologists, have limited skills in this area. And change may be in order.
