The general board here used to be....
Oct 23rd, 2014 at 7:07pm

A fun place.

A place where we talked about our family, posted pics, told funny things that happened to us and generally was a place to laugh.

Funny thing happened to it along the way with all the newcomers.

They decided not to post in the "medications, CH specific and getting to know you boards right above. Instead theyre posting here instead.

and the fun went down, down down.  Us oldtimers who have been here since 98 and 99 KNOW we need to laugh.  We need to laugh in order to bear this pain. That's why DJ, our web master created it.

Barb D and a few others have tried to keep it alive and I applaud this.

Can we please keep this "General Board" for what DJ intended?????

i feel yer pain. Clusterheadache suffers just posting willy nilly about crap anywhere their clicker has to click. We should demand that DJ make "a place to laugh" as you require...no more talk about pain and heartache on the general board...a moderator is needed...one who demands..."if ya don't bring sunshine and cute pictures of cats and roses...fuck you"... as they step off the Auschwitz traincars we have GOT to inform the newbies...direct them...line them up...i still like the old board...dj is such a dick that he won't return us there...to be able to skip over crap...thanks fer yer insight Linda....walk in the sunshine...den

G'day Linda,
I remember those days with the pics and the laughs, but
I've tried posting pics in the past to no avail, the
webmaster says, they are too big, I've read here in the
past other folk are experiencing the same thing. Maybe
if it could be made so that it excepts standard photos  from cameras, and Ipads it would alert the newbies that this is not where you introduce yourself & post your questions on CH's.
Cheers, Hoppy.

It's beaut we have a General Posts board to talk about things not CH, but I truly hope our oldsters will continue to help every newbie regardless where they first post.

After all, they are just newbies, seeking help.

Well, since I've got more problems than you can shake a stick at.. I come here to vent and get sympathy..

And about the SYMPATHY.. you guys ain't been giving me much of that lately..  Smiley We really need to talk about that.....

But seriously.. I DO remember the old days when we came here for a kick in the rear to cheer us up or just to blow off steam or whatever. And always felt better after doing so.. and some of the answers I got were priceless.. Made me laugh and that was the best medicine (heard that somewhere). Wink

Anyhow, we all need to loosen up and start having fun again. These darn HAs take a toll on us, but if we can laugh about it (and here we can laugh because we've all been thru the same things) then we'll all feel better.

And for the newbies... we're NOT putting you down when we joke .. it's just a way of letting you know that we've all been there and that it will pass and we're just trying to cheer you up a little.

I really love it when someone posts from the archives.. Drummers adventures, Kip's doggie rape, etc. Those are priceless.. Our newbies just don't know what we've been thru to get here..

Ok, enough of that.. please keep smiling..  Kiss Kiss

Ok, so I wasnt going to say anything........

seems to me there are very little posts of a "general nature" by the alum who have formed a particular bond. Rather, occassionally a "newbie" to the site like me posts in the wrong place. Seems to me worse things could happen. I have tried to be aware of it and can see how it can be inconvenient, but perhaps if the alum were to utilize it as it was in the past, there would be other things on there than an "idiot" like me risking boredom from those who prefer the lighter side. the opportunity is here for you to continue the "old days" and I hope that YOU can relive them. Thanks to those who have been there for us "newbies" including those who miss the "old site"
I do however get a laugh (the lighter side) from those who have shared their discontent as if their whole world has been changed for the worse. lighten up by posting something yourself lighter.........I realize this might be a contentious message, but so be it.
thanks for your being there when I needed you. wishing you all well..........

To quote a wise friend, " Facebook killed the radio star."

I think that is part of the problem.  Maybe some of us should start trying to pick things back up around here.  I know this place means a lot to me.  As  do all of you!

I, for one, tend to have a pretty boring existence but I will try to participate in conversation here more often.  I'm just always fearful of making posts that are uninteresting! I'm here every day. I just don't post often anymore.

I guess it's easy to feel that you might be "boring" taking care of business day in and day out....just saying hey once in while you might find otherwise. Afterall, whether one is interesting or not is pretty subjective.
I wouldn't fear sharing anything that crosses your mind.

Bob G, good post!  I got no sound, but it was fun looking at all of the cars that I remember weren't old!  Identified all but one.  I'd tell you which one, but I'd have to identify it to do so.  Smiley
