Eye Issues
Jan 15th, 2015 at 11:47am

Hi Everyone!

As you can see I am new to this board but am glad to see a support group for this .... I don't know what to call it... issue?

My question here is has anyone suffered from eye problems other than the usual drooping or tearing eye?

My eye... the one on the side that hurts lol... had a major retina detachment a year ago where I lost half of my vision etc. When a CH comes along this particular eye tends to have a sharp pain and throbbing sensation. I'm wondering if all this detachment etc. is due to the CH's?

My retina specialist didn't say anything about it yet I didn't tell him about my CH's either. I maybe should have but we were more concerned with "saving the eye".

Yes, you should tell your eye doc!

But, it's not uncommon, with Cluster, to have striking pain in the eyes, teeth, temple. There is a complex nerve bundle in our head whican create pain in these areas when having a Cluster attack. Not always, not in all these areas--but it can be confusing until you learn about your particular pattern of expeiencing Cluster.

But, eyes are too important to not be examined when you have pain. If there is a pattern of eye pain and Cluster attacks, and it's clear that it's not an eye disorder, you can relax.

I suggest a visit to the eye doctor and not attempting to self diagnose/treat on your own.
