The best I've heard yet!
Jan 24th, 2015 at 10:28am

As all of you out there know, people are always happy to offer advise when you tell them you have Cluster Headache, and I've had my share over the years.
But today I had the best one yet.
Let me explain that today its 8 degrees centigrade with bright sunshine, here on the east coast of Ireland... A beautiful day.
So, I was in my local health shop buying my Vitamin K2 (sticking strictly to Batch's dosages), when I started to get pain.
By the time I got to talk to the assistant I was holding the left side of my head with my eye firmly closed.
She asked what was wrong and I naturally said "a cluster headache attack was coming on".
HERE COMES THE RESPONSE:

"It's cold out. Maybe you should be wearing a hat".

I actually laughed, despite my increasing pain.

I would love the hear other people's similar stories.
Keep well.
Peter.

When I was getting oxygen sorted out I was told by a nurse that oxygen is a dangerous drug and they try to wean people off it. She was rather confused when I pointed out that the only people in the hospital not using oxygen were in the mortuary!

There's been some crackers over the years, Peter, that's for sure. Have a look at the CH Specific board, page 3, for a thread called Dopiest Responses to Ch.

Bit of a long read but there's bits you might recognise.

I tried to explain the cause of CH to a friend. Her response was "Oh well, if it's in your brain you should see a psychiatrist"   Huh

Best not try to explain, so that you don't get that dopey
response, they will never get it unless they are a sufferer
of CH's themselves.

Cheers, Hoppy.

Just say the alien that lives in my brain occasionally tries to crawl out of my eye.

Most people will not inquire further.
