Weight gain during my cycles - common?
Mar 18th, 2015 at 12:08am

Hey guys and gals,

I always pack on 5-10 pounds when I'm under attack. I feel like Verapramil may be the culprit. i understand that there are other factors which can contribute such as less activity, comfort eating, etc... However, I don't believe I'm eating more and I'm trying to stay fairly active with short walks throughout the day. Does anyone else know why I may be gaining weight?

Thanks.

Ask your doctor or the pharmacist about any side effects on any med you suspect may be the cause.

Verap slows everything down. When I am taking it, it is much harder to get my heart rate up while exercising. I have often wondered if it causes one's metabolism to be sluggish too.

It is ever thus...we are all in the same cluster boat but with very different waves to plow through. I used to lose 5-10 lbs per cycle (back when I was skinny and on verapamil!) Used to overeat in off cycles to compensate. Now my cycles are low and somehow 25 lbs snuck onto my
gut and won't go away!!!

Best

Good studies have regularly shown how often we misjudge our intake of food when under press/tension, etc.

Food is the great soother!
