Incredible hatred for FDR was the only reason it was enacted. I remember perhaps jokingly that some Republicans wanted to overturn the 22nd Amendment if it would to keep St. Reagan around.

Lots of people talk about returning to the constitution, but when their program is on the axe they quite quickly find an exception for it.

What they fail to realize is that the constitution does makes their precious pet project/law possible. So long as it is done on the local/state levels. We need to get back to a limited FEDERAL government.

If the people of California wants to enact some stupid law, let them. The people of South Carolina will stay out of their way, and/or out of their state.

10th amendment
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
