Red bull worked!
Oct 2nd, 2015 at 11:09pm

So... I felt a CH coming on,  not yet diagnosed but have an appointment coming up.. anyhow, I felt it coming on and was reading through the message  boards and read about the red bull remedy, happened to have half of a can from earlier (unrelated) and slammed it with some old coffee, and it seems that it aborted what would have been an attack...

My question is, is there a certain amount that people have found to be most successful and if this works for you does it also prevent it from coming on later? I currently get them once per night between 10ish and 11ish unless I trigger it earlier with something else accidentally, like exercise or alcohol..

I can't tell you how amazing it is to have found this place.

Thanks in advance
Amy

Hi Amy - pleased that you're finding this place so useful.

With any abortive it is hard to ever know if a CH aborted never returns or if it just postpones it. It isn't as if you can put a name tag on one and see if it has the name tag still on it when it comes back.

But that never stopped me trying to kill off any of my headaches however I could.

I was never able to fully abort an attack with a Red Bull, but if I slam a Red Bull while I abort an attack with oxygen, it seems to push the come back attack back 6-8 hours.

Do let us know how the meeting with the neuro goes, if he does diagnose you with CH, his first suggestion for fighting it should be oxygen, if that's not his first suggestion as an abortive, it's a good chance he's not that up to speed on CH.

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.
