Happy Birthday Marine Corps

This Day In Naval History - November 10

1775 - Congress votes to raise two battalions of Continental Marines, establishing the Marine Corps.

240 years carries a lot of history... The Marines helped us win our war of independence in 1776. Their next major action came 25 years later during the First Barbary War (1801–1805).

Why the US went to war against the Barbary states is an interesting piece of history that has repeated itself...

Well actually I hugged 2 Marines.. but both needed a hug .. Both gave over 20 years of service. And then it was Veteran's Day and I hope we all hugged a Vet or two.. And said "Thank you"
